Thread seems a bit more cheery tonight, hope all ailments clear up soon and all plays go well. Well done everyone managing to stay AF through difficult times.

Vampires don't do it for me I'm afraid but I'm told the film Nativity is gentle entertainment which I'm hoping to catch during the hols.

Thanks for cheering us on HB, I really need it! I started some Christmas shopping today  Mostly on line but I did do some shops. Bells were ringing big time. I think I associated festive shops with holidays and drinking! But I am determined to do the 72hr challenge before I'm away for a few days mini-break.

    6AF please marru.
  • Mention of Nativity plays reminds me of discussions that took place at my recent AA meeting.
Folks were going to see their grand children perform and they were all very proud that their grand children had never seen them drunk.

Just popping by as I shut down; AF tonight, very tired but managed to watch Cast Offs, which is brill - last one tomorrow.

BB thanks for your lovely post - you are really thoughtful and take time to mention everyone, it is appreciated and am sure it wont be long before you hear from your Ds.

hope everyone and their little ones starts to recover in time for xmas - they are dropping like flies at work as well, and I'm the only one not to have the swine flu and seasonal flu jabs!! still thinking on that one!

well done 69chick for cancelling the sainsburys order - I have done that in the past myself. though one year I had about 72 bottles of wine in the porch (points orders MR T!) and I didnt touch a bottle until February - quite often dont drink in January - no one could believe it!

as for the gym I've slowed down, the back is better now but still got slight wear and tear in my knee! maybe I should try the swimming.

right off for dog weewee and bed! goodnite x

    5/10 AF

    Hi All

Been lurking as always but not been AF - should have been last night but had a long drive yesterday and half way home decided that I was going to have the wine when I got back! thankfully only one bottle in the house - the others are in the garage to be saved for Christmas.

BB sorry you are having a miserable time - I'm sure your son will come round as you are so close and I hope the CBT works for Mr BB. Please remember to look after yourself !
woke myself up choking - got some weird coughing thing going on just now otherwise I would not be up - I really like my bed too much! Thankfully my meeting today was cancelled coz I would be on my way to the M25 instead of here
Loved the piccie YM - Mr DD is getting festive and put up lights in the windows at the front of the house - it's my job to do the tree so maybe this weekend, am beginning to look forward to Christmas and the long lie-ins ! I should be a bear (hello HB) - I would love to hibernate:D

Sorry to hear everybody else's woes - Jo hope the police have sorted out DD1 ex and that your DD2 and everybody's little ones are picking up!

Not really capable of a BB post as there are too many people to comment on but I hope everybody is OK and managing to cut down/ give up!
tonight I intend to be AF

    take care all

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Good morning all

    6 for me please Marru!

Budgie - have PM'd you. But just wanted to say...you are NOT a muppet. And I should know, as I AM one myself!;)

Maman - I too did a lot of shopping on-line this year. It was SO much easier (and cheaper with amazon offering free postage!). I hate the trawling round the shops as the Swindon ones aren't exactly good!

69chick - that made me laugh about your inlaws. Sort of thing my Mum would do! Well done on cancelling the Sainsbugs order.

Fay - hope you are ok. You're a busy little bee - whizzing in and out. Hope you aren't overdoing it!

:hello::hello:to everyone else! (too many to mention and would hate to miss anyone out!)

Day three of he 72 hour challenge! How are we all doing? No cravings or bells for me yet but my danger times is Fridays so will be relying on everyone to steer me clear!

Another day closer to Christmas too! Can't believe I'm so organised this year. Even Piglets stuff is all bought (including birthday which is just before christmas - good timing on my part:rolleyes:)

Few parcels to post today - sold some ebay stuff. Bit more to help towards crimbo. Other than that, me and Piglet are having an easy day. Might make some christmassy things. Urgh...that means glitter....I hate glitter....

    Good morning,

Thank you everyone, feeling lots better today. Went to bed just after seven, got up at ten to see to animals (dog weewee one of the routines here as well), read for a bit ("why diets don't work" :rotfl:) and now apart from stuffy nose and bit of cough feeling fine.

DD is better as well, no temperature but will keep her home today. Might take her to her play in the evening if she keeps temperature free all day. 69chick - do you live around the corner as my DD should have been alien yesterday evening in the play? They have second performance today.

So another day of working from home for me. It has been mad this week.

Ok here explanation to the table etc. We all set up ourselves target of how many alcohol free = AF days we will have in that month. One of us is scoring - that would be me in December. As I am a bit of a statistics freak I set up a spreadsheet where you can see who has set up a target, how much they have achieved, what is their target, how much they are contributing to the total achieved, how much they have contributed towards the total pledged and finally how far they are to achieve their personal target. If the percentages are too much just look at the first three columns.

And no it is not too late for target for December.

Better get on with that work...
