Hi all
BB- just reading back, so sorry to hear you and Mr B are struggling at the moment-it can be so difficult living with someone who is depressed, its so frustrating as often only time and good support helps and it can take such a long time before people start to return to normal. But he WILL get better BB, hes getting medical help and brilliant support from you (and we all know how wonderfully caring and supportive you are) so please believe theres light at the end of the tunnel for both of you-huge hugs.
Jo, sorry you are having a tough time- chin up girl, you've been brilliant over the last few weeks, you should feel really proud of yourself.
Hope everyone is OK, I'm watching a documentary by Callum Best on BBC3 on alcoholic parents at the moment- hanging my head in shame, but at the same time pleased I survived- I hope my children don't end up in therapy later on because of my selfish behaviour, I'm still trying to make it up to them but I'm not sure whether they can ever really forgive me- just that thought keeps me sober, I CANNOT let them down again.
Bit of a depressing post- sorry guys.0 -
Hi all :hello:
3 for me please Marru. Your spreadsheet is amazing, you are very clever.
Sorry so many people feeling down at the moment. So am I - had to turn down several freelancing jobs over the past couple of weeks because I'm doing this maternity cover at the moment, which I'm starting to get fed up with and wondering whether to just pack it in and go back to freelancing. Oh dear!!! But I'm getting up at 6:20 am every day to get into central Manchester for 8:00 so I can leave at 4:00 and get home for 5:10 to make the tea, and it's all exhausting and I'd like to be back in control of my life again!!!!
At least there's no way I could drink wine during the week.
I'm not going on the work's do - I'd have to pay for myself cos I'm temp, and I just don't want to get into all that merry-making with colleagues, alcohol involved etc etc
Anyway, that's my moan over tonight. Must get on. I've got the morning off tomorrow to take DD2 and DD3 to the orthodontist, so will get a lie in until 7:30 yippeeeeee!! Then back into work boooooo.

Evening all,
pricey, it really sounds as if you are running around a lot at the moment -exhausting but well done being AF - imagine how much more difficult it would be if you were drinking too.
Eselt, thanks for your honest post - it's amazing what children can understand and forgive their parents for, particularly when they get older and understand that life is complicated. I actually think that Everyone should have a bit of therapy, even if they had a 'normal' life as it helps us understand our adult self and set ourselves straight for life.
Anyway, no alcohol here tonight although I need to go to bed now as I feel very tired.
Good luck everyone.Trying to keep in budget.

Hello All
Sorry that peeps are feeling down - think it's the weather!
Well I made three :j abit touch & go coz I had bought wine and had put it in the fridge but feel a bit carp and have a longish drive to a relatively boring meeting tomorrow so nodding off mid-meeting would not be cool!
Also I like Marru spreadsheet and the fact I've hit 30% (of course relatively easy due to low total - damn lies & statistics)
Tomorrow night I shall have a drink and write my Chrimbo cards - so the first few may be legible but the last few ....:rotfl:
Hopefully no drunken typing tho'!
take care all and looking forward to YM chrimbo lights!

Evening all
Marru, doing a fantastic job. I really love the spreadsheet.
Feeling very pleased with myself tonight. Have the out-laws over with stepkids on boxing day (thats me giving in to a certain extent as I don't get on with out-laws!). And I've just convinced OH to invite his brother and OH. They see each other prob once every two years (at most) but I thought OH's mum might like to have all her family in one place. His brothers not awful...just different to OH with different values and ideas. See.I'm a nice person!!;)
Still full of cold and happy on pills alone...so thats 3 for me please Marru!
Did a lot of crimbo food shopping today....have the biggest piece of gammon I've ever seen! Even scarier...I don't have a pot it will fit in!!! (who says christmas is fun?!?!?)

You have tried approx 10 times and never succeeded, so perhaps try different methods. Good luck.
I admire your honesty, GP, it's probably what I need right now. Last new year I didn't have a drink and felt great on 1st Jan, but couldn't keep it up. I am going to give the one day at a time a go, it seems to work for so many people and doesn't make you feel like you fail if you have a 'bad day'! Sorry if I sounded so self-pitying the other night, the thing is nothing is really triggering the drinking these days, just habit (or addiction). I have a night out tomorrow which I know I will drink at, so gonna try the one day at a time from Saturday - sober X factor??? I hope so, wish me luck.

Struggled a bit tonight, never really considered drinking but 4 in a row is hard for me and I missed it (IYSWIM). I think your spreadsheet is really clever marru and I'm pleased to be doing my bit to keep percentages up BUT I have to get lots of AF days in early in the month before my Christmas socialising starts in earnest on 10th to have any chance of meeting my target.
Well done on shopping marathon MissP and you really are a very kind lady, remembering how hurtful OH's family can be to you. Hope piglet's hand is better.
fay good luck for tomorrow.
Sorry so many people feeling a bit down tonight but don't forget we have YM's Christmas Lights to look forward to tomorrow!:snow_grin

No plans for the weekend as yet, so hoping to add some more to my 1. I shall be watching the final of "I'm a celeb" tonight for sure, so hopefully I can resist the bells.
Good Luck & thanks for just being here
