I've been reading 'No big deal- A Guide to Recovery from addictions' by John Coates.

A totally fantastic book, those that have found Living Sober useful should get hold of a copy of this, very inciteful (sp?) :)

Just watched this whilst having a rest :o woking from home is soo tireing!

Not sure what to make of it really, there were lots of thought provoking isues and some bits that made me think oh thank god I've never got that far, but if I don't sort this now I easily could. I did think tho it was a shame there was so much focus on Callum Best and I really didn't like the fact that they ended with him in a pub with a pint. But perhaps thats just me

Oooh, is it on iplayer or catch up TV? I was too busy to watch, I'm at home this arvo so will have a look now!

Biglass, thank you, what an inspiration :A :)

Well having a great day here! Had a Surveyor round this morning to look at the potential of a loft conversion to combat the overcrowding and he said it looks quite positive as we have a huge loft space, potentially big enough for 2 rooms, though council planners probably won't allow us to have a dormer on the front only on the back (but I'll still get a velux window for DS's telescope  :D

I've spent the last week clearing, cleaning and emptying my loft ready for this guy this morning and now I have nothing to do....absolutely nothing, there is nothing in my house that needs cleaning, washing, hoovering or tidying....it's a little odd and doesn't feel right  but fear not, kids will be home from school in an hour and then I'll have plenty to do again :rotfl:

29 days sober today, just had a long bath as nobody in the house and had peace and quiet and can report that face looks healthier, definately less puffy, skin not as pale and eye whites whiter, must keep reminding myself of this!! I am, though, in complete pain from head to toe as I've spent the last 24 hours moving furniture, carrying a bed up the road and upstairs into the house, washed every window and this morning even climbed the surveyors ladder to have a gander into the loft.....my back is killing me and every muscle in my body is screaming, but I feel great :D

    xx

    Hello
Just popping in to say that I have had 2 more alcohol free days for a total of 5 please Glasgow Girl.
I'm quite pleased with that and I think I will make my target easily, BUT on the days I do drink I am drinking far too much so I'm not sure that my overall alcohol intake is going down at all. I think I need to start having a unit target instead of AF days.
I am going to have to give serious thought as to whether I can actually be a 'moderate' drinker:sad:. I seem to be able to manage 2 or 3 consecutive AF days reasonably easily but only because I know that I can then drink and I look forward to that whilst drinking my herbal teas.
Anyway, I'm going to try not to drink this evening.

    Good evening,

I have been dog walking and am soaked through. As soon as I get some dry clothes on and a cup of hot tea I should be sorted. Weather is too horrid to go back out so I can safely say it will be no 12 for me today please GG.

My A for today will be to make one phone call, check bank and pay off one loan
My F for today will be after DD has gone to bed to sit in candle light while listening nice music.
