  • Hi

Just popping in for a quick post, thanks GG for volunteering to do November, I'm sure you will do a great job:T:T

Fay can you update my totals for 20/31 for October, and oh this is where I need more fingers, 35/100 for my challenge. Doing fine, no bells or any inclination to go shopping for wine. Very confident, but still wondering what I will do come Christmas Eve:rolleyes:

    Good night everyone.

Sorry to hear you are under the weather Grey Pilgrim, "Soldier On" and look after yourself.

Hope everyone else is okay. Well done Jo, glad to hear your feeling more postive.

    Good Night All:rotfl:

Hi all- what a calm, confident and supportive few days of postings, well done everybody.

BB-what can I say, Brawn's a genius-dare I say it but Jensen's not the best driver in F1 so Ross's car must have been streets ahead of the rest this year.

Fay-I started to get red thread veins a few yrs ago, when I stopped drinking they didn't completely go, but they have faded, and now I haven't got alcohol coming out of my pores and the puffiness has gone, and the red flush isn't an issue (oh, and I am the right colour generally eg. not yellow) I get loads of comments on how well I look, and how my skins improved. Someone said to me the other day that when I was drinking even my eyes looked dull and flat and now they had a glint back in them. I suppose after a while we start to look on the outside like we feel on the inside. I swear by Dermalogica active moist for bracing the elements and never leave the house without slapping some on. I used to have nightmares about developing one of those huge bulbous 'strawberry' noses that some drinkers get-not a good look.

Nite nite everyone, hopefully the fact that everyones tired and gone to bed early is a sign the dreaded sleeping difficulties are getting easier. Catch you all tommorrow.

I just loved this smilie, it's adorable and I'm going to use it for you wb - that's how you'll feel about yourself if you don't stick with our 3 day event. So tell OH to ...off if he tries to force strong drink on you tomorrow!

Great to hear so much positivity on here tonight, too many of you doing really well to mention but well done all who are managing AF tonight :T

Glad your mood seemed to lift a bit as the evening went on fay, and I thought you sounded a bit brighter too fedupski. Well done both for staying on the wagon (or was it a chariot we've been riding tonight?)

Good to see you back gromit, and good luck with your job search.

So glad that parents evening went well 40SM, I told you nothing to worry about. You make sure you tell your boys how proud you are of them and how very pleased their teachers were with them. And well done for not celebrating in traditional style when you got home.

10AF for me please fay. (and £23.33)

I'm going to have a quick look around then off to bed too. 'night all - only 25 hours and 6 minutes to go

Thanks RA, surprised how easy this book is to read and my eye seems to land at where I need to read often. Like the self pity bit.

Oh was going to ask any of you long time AF's - have any of you used a sponsor? If so/not how was it/why not?

I have a sponsor. I find it invaluable. Someone I can tell everything too, and who I run ideas past. My thinking has got me into trouble and I have made many bad decisions in the past. If I talk to my sponsor, I make fewer bad decisions. He just listens, and occasionally gives direction. Most of the time he is a sounding board.
When I speak to him (every day) he always asks me first thing "How is your head today?" , not "How are you?"
He knows my darkest secrets, so I have no qualms in telling him all the little stuff either which starts small and then gets big........

I have gained from having a sponsor, and I hope to sponsor someone in the future when I am ready, just to give back

    Have a great Final Day!
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • Morning all!

All's well over here, just far too much real life and no time to myself online (kids doing GCSEs and apparently their own laptops just aren't good enough - they ain't getting new ones, that's for sure..) anyway, 20 AF for me please, Fay.

Hope everyone's just peachy and settling into Autumn.

    :hello::hello::D :kisses3:

Been a bit knackered and had that 'can't be bothered' feeling over the last couple of days ....... must have been the shock of doing some real work over the weekend :rotfl:

Off to the 'addiction support place' this morning for the reduction clinic, though I've only gone down by 1 unit compared to last week :o. I mean, there are baby steps ....

    Hope everyone is OK,
Not had a chance to read the millions of posts .... what a lot of chatterboxes :D

    Best Wishes
    BHB
