Thanks my dear, it's all a bit of a struggle TBH, though I've managed to do most of the days this month, it's the slips ups in between that get me down. But I have managed 5 consecutive days so far and am very pleased with that. Liver doesn't hurt quite so much, which is a bonus :cool:

Bluddy hell last night was hard, can't express to you all how determined I was to drink. I drove twice to the offy on purpose and sat inthe car for a full 5 minutes before I text Fay, then thought, if I'm texting Fay I obviously don't want to drink and I'm wanting her to say NO!!!! why do I tease myself with it

V. mucho pleased today though. Thought it might have an impact on the cleaning motivation but, ermm, not quite

Morning molls, hope the party was good, I love a good 80th :rotfl: how did you find the not drinking, is it easy now?

If you have to drive to the offy, maybe you can do something to stop yourself getting in the car. Just make it a bit difficult for yourself. Put the keys somewhere awkward or something? It may be enough to put you off before you've even thought about it too hard

Remember ACs(RIP) story abut his exams? Once he KNEW he couldn't smoke, he dismissed the thought and his cigarette 'bells' stopped. Might work the same. If you KNOW that you can't, or at least it would be a big effort just to get in to the car, the bells might subside.....

Unfortunately yesterday, the first time I was driving back from doing the shopping then second time DD1 persuaded me to take her to the station as she was running late for the cinema, couldn't say no cos she'd miss film. I could've 'done a Fay' and left purse at home, but that would've been far too simple :rolleyes: plus think I like to test myself sometimes.

On a cleaning note, decided not to do anything this morning, thought I'd excercise some self-sabbotage and doit later

Well done for last night...and well done to Fay keeping you on the straight and narrow.

You obviously just need someone to keep telling you NO;)

The party was great last night....a Neil Diamond tribute....not my scene really but you couldn't fault the man....he was excellent.

I was always the life and soul at parties when drinking (or thought I was) but last night for the first time I felt confident enough to start the dancing etc without even one drink....and I danced all night.(feet killing today:o)
It was really easy last night...they all know now that I don't drink and no one even asked if I missed it etc....
And the best part.....Sunday morning after a party...no hangover and can remember every moment of my lovely mum's 80th party.....Definitely one to keep in the memory files of happy days with Mum.:j

hello coffee galore here, on to second cup decent coffee - big mistake!

Book seems OK - didn't get along with AC book very well - dunno why

I read a bit in bed with OH saying 'why do you need other folks help surely you can just stop' - OK for those who don't hear the bells toll


I asked him how would he feel if there were a cupboard full of haribo sweeties around (they call to him until they are all eaten!) and he started asking if there was REALLY a cupboard of haribo in the house........all twitchy like :rotfl:

Anyway Lurks - sorry about the lack of gold stars so far - will be smothering you in them soon I hope.

Jo glad my bad-cop show her a picture of cheesecake routine worked.....as did the stupid picture of the psychadelic wellies......lol what a sight!!!!

At least you texted if I am lurking in the supermarket late the last thing I would do enroute to the checkout with wine intentions is text - so well done to you

Sunday is USUALLY an easier day for me, as I have to drive about a bit in the evening..... unfortunately, there is a tin in the fridge left over.....

Right, need to get this backside up off chair and do summat. Off to pick up mummy to take her for her weekly shop, then she can have the pleasure of my kids for a couple of hours, oh she loves that :eek: (this is why we only go once a week )
