Guys, you are all so sweet and I feel so ashamed of myself. This week I gave up on it. I couldn't face it all, especially as I don't have much appetite lately. My dad is very ill, we are trying to move house, maintenance means my water supply keeps getting switched off meaning I have 2 bus-rides (2 1/2 hours each way) and back to my parents' house with the girls whenever that happens. I didn't have a chance to get my list together before we went shopping and so I though s*d it. We had bread and cheese last night. Then on top of the usual fruit and veg, I bought 2 pizzas, 2 jars of pasta sauces, vegetable burgers and I have breaded fish in the freezer I intend to use this week :o (At least the baby's menu doesn't have to change, but she might well be having a lot more banana, pear and avocado than planned!) Sorry to let you down :(

PP - as I had defrosted the pork anyway yesterday I'm going to put it in the slow cooker in a bit for dinner tonight. Unfortunately I forgot to buy the prunes I was going to put in. I think it will be onion, celery, carrot, garlic, the diced pork, stock, red wine and some plain flour to thicken. I forgot to get leeks too so we will have it with some whoopsied organic bloomer instead of the leek pud.
Love and compassion to all x

I don't think there's anything to be sorry about, hun - life gets in the way sometimes. At least you've made me feel slightly better about getting a takeaway on Friday! :o

I hope your dad gets better soon, and you get your water back, too.

Having carefully worked out my meal plan for the week, the weather's now gloriously warm so my planned soups and casseroles don't seem nearly so tempting any more! I've ended up doing a bit of a rethink and my plan for the week (or what's left of it!) is:

Friday- was a takeaway pizza - just too tired to cook after running round at a work function all day! :o
Saturday - [STRIKE]sausage and green lentil casserole with green cabbage[/STRIKE]
bacon-wrapped sausages with chilli-touille (spicy ratatouille - my dad's name for it!)
Sunday - minted lamb chop (last one from a pack I bought at the butcher's at the start of the summer) with cabbage and potatoes
    Monday - [STRIKE]hm minestrone soup[/STRIKE]
chilli con carne from the freezer, with cheesy bread (not hm, sadly)
Tuesday - out visiting a family friend all day - she's cooking dinner so no need to eat when I get home after all
Wednesday - [STRIKE]bacon, roast chicken and pesto risotto[/STRIKE]
bacon, cherry tomato and pesto risotto, as all my hg toms have ripened at once
    Thursday -
[STRIKE]4 cheese stuffed pasta with courgette and tomato sauce[/STRIKE] pie made with leftover rubber chicken and bacon, with veg (Thursday's veg box delivery day)

Right, that's that - and this time I'll stick to it! :o

Back after a very long break!

Certainly... it's the pub grub type rather than the Chicken Cacciatore type 9which I do also make sometimes). I make a BBQ sauce with a carton of passata, a couple of tablespoonfuls of brown sugar, half a teaspoonful of mustard powder, a teaspoonful of worcestershire sauce, half a teaspoonful of chilli powder and a tablespoonful of red wine vinegar or lemon juice (you can adjust all of these to taste). Wrap the chicken breasts in bacon, brown them in a frying pan, then put them in a casserole dish and pour the bbq sauce over the top. Cook in the oven for about an hour at 180 degrees. About 10 mins from the end sprinkle some grated cheese over the top of the chicken breasts so that it melts in the last bit of cooking time.

It's not very healthy but it sure is yummy! :D

Brrrr it's far from gloriously warm here, my casseroles are going down a treat!
