Why do you say that Tyler ?
I was in a similar situation in so far as I couldn't get returns details from mobiles.co.uk and so sent it back and cancelled the contract with O2.
They were very helpfull in it all and even followed it up afterwards ;)

I tried to cancel with orange directly, but they advised i would have to do it through mobiles.co.uk

after i explained the situation they gave me the correspondance address but thats it...the girl i spoke to was nice enough and tried to help, but wasnt much help to be honest!

If anyone has managed to get a cancellation sorted through orange though please let me know how its done and i will try it :)

    Hi Chris,
The problem is the gesture that was made to me of a cheque took 35 days to arrive and it was for £50 which only touched the surface of what the farce cost me:mad:

I soon realised a couple of days into it that it was going nowhere so I cancelled and got the phone elsewhere.
The longer you let it drag on waiting for them the longer it takes to sort out.
It's not just about the money

Thats what i mean - the cheque they offered as compensation didnt cover the loss when it was made, if it takes another 30 days, thats 30 days i wont be using the phone, that i'd like to be compensated for

If the cheque comes, it wont be banked, itll be returned.

I've requested they either refund me the charges made by themselves and orange (not asking for a refund/compensation for the phone bill trying to contact them) - and they can sort out the cancellation of the contract themselves - as far as im concerned if they have to pay the £850ish to complete the contract with orange, thats their problem.

I've tried to be as reasonable as possible to try and sort this, but they seem to create a hurdle at every single opportunity - its going a little bit too far now!

Lol! thanks.. but unfortunately, "its not his department" :D
  • Ill be staying out of this one then, there appears to be quite a history to your issue it seems. I hope you all the best in getting it resolved thou. My issue of mis-sold contracts was kindly dealt with my trading standards.

At least i made you smile, or perhaps smirk. :D

    Hi Chris,
I've never dealt with Orange so don't know the structure but I would be on the phone to their accounts department asking who deals with the mobiles.co.uk account and explain you have got serious issues with them avoiding your requests to cancelation.

    Ben,

Last week i was advised by a supervisor (Zoe i think) that she could no longer do anything so i should escalate the problem to "Marci Gordon-reid" by continuing to email supervisor@mobiles.co.uk and marking it for their attention.

This was done.... actually, it was done almost a week and a half ago.

2 days ago i sent another email just simply asking how long i should expect to wait for a response.

Are you able to answer that?

I think customer services is going downhill even more than before... and to say it was bad before is a HUGE understatement!
