Putty,
There are many members out there who have had the same problems as you, and many more ways of skinning this particular rabbit!
Have a look at www.firstpluscomplaints.co.uk
There are hundreds of people there who are going through the same and you may be able to draw from their experiences. You will have to register to get full access to the site, your eyes will be opened up, trust me!0 -
Thanks for the last two posts. Is there anyone on here who has had this problem and got a result ?????????
Thanks

Hi All again
I need further help now. Today we received FP's response and they said it was not misold, 2-3 pages of jargon referring to telephone call and policy book that we were advised to read.
I am totally confused, really desperate as I really need the money so please can anyone out there tell me if they have had a similar response first time round and what they did about it, and also if they have been sucessful. I have already reorted the issue to the FOS.
Like I said I am really desperate and hope that I am not stuffed, but please someone help, even if its to advise who the best PPI claims expert is to refer this to.
Thanks in anticipation
Putty
Hi Putty
Have FP supplied you with the copy of the telephone recordings?
If not then ask, meanings they said they went by that, they should be able to send you a copy on request.
This is what helped one of my cases, with another company though, but keep at them hun, the FOS will sort this out if these don't.;);)
Do not let that hold you back, what you received is a bog standard response. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Di
Thanks for that. Yes they have sent my a typed manuscript I suppose you could call it of the conversation, referring to the signed document both chapter and verse that we had a chance to study before accepting.
It seems so official to me and I am just worried that they have us and we have no let out. I have already referred this to the FOS and I am now going to send Martins second letter to them giving them 14 days, but like I said it seems all doom and gloom.
Someone please tell me its not and that they have had a similar letter but it ended sucessfully. Please!!!!
Thanks

Hi hun
Do not worry, I still think you have a good case, and these single policies are frowned upon anyway, very costly indeed, even though you may have agreed to it, many have done, but have still been successful, and remember as well, its always their word on ours, but stand strong, you do have your reasons, so please do not worry.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Fingers crossed- I really could do with the money and the lower premium. I was going to threaten them with a claims specialist - is this wise and is it likely to take long?0

If this policy was sold over the previous years, the chances are that it was possibly mis sold anyway, so good luck and please keep us posted, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Putty,
PPI is almost a foregone conclusion with FP, take my advice and join the website above, introduce yourself and sit back with a smug sense of self satisfaction at having made the right move. I am reclaiming PPI from them too, but there are legal issues I wont go into on an open forum such as this.
99% of all FOS cases re PPI with FP are upheld and paid out, just do it the right way!!
You ask:

It will take the same length of time for you to do it as it would a claims "specialist", my opinion of "specialists" are that 99% cowboys with a dash of cowboy and they will take up to 30% of a claim which to you would end up being in the thousands. Dont bother threatening them with it, they dont care and will just laugh.0 -
listen to bean above , alot of these claims bods try to join the sit to get info on what we have on FP, so hedge your bets ,keep up contact with these fine people here {hi Di } and go and join and look /speak to us on FPC site too.

Many thanks for all advice. Letter emailed off to them so no excuses for them not receiving it. I did threaten with someone to recover but will heed your good advice.
If anyone on here has had a similar letter like me, it would be real good to know the outcome.
Cheers
