    "Prue! It's kicking off!"

Go out for a couple of hours and all hell breaks loose!

Thanks to Jason for the information regarding the flat in Dartford, although I have to say I find it odd that an accountant with so many clients would live in a pokey flat and have such a small turnover registered at Companies House. S/he must be one heck of a busy bunny doing 135 businesses accounts! But isn't it odd that s/he doesn't show a profit? But, as you say, it's still Quidco's problem as they're showing the registered address as 36a, so that's where all mail is delivered and that's where my paperwork is being sent to.

I've worked for a small practice in the past and they'll have 200+ companies 'registered' there, even though it is a pokey little office above a chip shop or similar. It doesn't always mean the accountant is doing any audit work for them, just that he set up the company and/or they are registered at that address.

The law does stipulate that if a company is registered at an accountants office that the details of each and every business is clearly displayed on the wall - if you have an accountant, go visit them and check out their walls.
Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.

That'd be a loooong board at 36a then! :rotfl: I don't personally have an accountant as I do my own books (for my sins!), but I'm sure a wander around town would mean tripping over a few accountants offices.

Don't know, but the website is not registered in Martin's personal name and therefore he is not personally responsible for the content of the forum.....which makes perfect sense to me when youi consider some of the very contentious stuff that goes on here in these forums.

I've amended my previous post as I do not want it construed that Martin isn't invovled in the forums. My post wasn't meant to suggest the forums are operated by some clandestine underground movement, simply that for a number of very sensible legeal reasons, the website and Martin are 'seperate' so no comeback on Martin for the content on these forums.

From what I have seen, the web site is owned by MONEYSAVINGEXPERT.COM, a "Private Unlimited Company", whose owners (presumably Martin?) would be liable.
I think the website used to be owned by MARTIN S LEWIS LIMITED, a "Private Limited Company" which would have excluded its owners from personal liability.

According to the whois record for the site:

    Domain Name.......... moneysavingexpert.com
    Creation Date........ 2002-06-11
    Registration Date.... 2002-06-11
    Expiry Date.......... 2015-06-11
    Organisation Name.... Martin Lewis
    Organisation Address. via. Tesciuba Ltd,
    Admin Name........... Martin Lewis
    Admin Address........ via. Tesciuba Ltd,

Although this say it is registered under Martin's name, according to companies house martin changed the name of the company from Martin Lewis to MoneySavingExpert.com on 22/08/2008. The company has obviously been registered via the accountants - Tesciuba.

Tesciuba is an accountants registered at the same address so MSE is the same set up as Quidco. If you do a google search on the address it shows up as a residential property in Manchester.

Regret making the post now - we're going desperately off topic.

The website is legally seperate from Martin for obvious legal reasons - nuff said. Nothing else to add really.

Now, back on topic with regard Quidco and the venting and frustratins of some members.

Wouldn't have thought your "books" were that complicated with £223 per month.

Any update on all the court cases? reports/complaints to Companies House? or Advertising Standards? How many people can post here on this thread and say they've been helped so far? and finally, how many people have registered in the last two months just to specifically complain about Quidco?
