Even though we got the magical rosette I still think it's a very stupid thing.
One more buyer leaves us a low rating in p+p and we'll lose 3 months worth of a extra 15% discount.
This is despite all the rest of our buyers being charged exactly the same amount and presumably being happy with it.
And just to annoy me further one of our fellow top rated (you can search for only offers from top rated now  ) charges £1.50 for a letter sized item.

One thing I do like though is that buyers will be sent a email when anything is marked as despatched/postage printed for it, might help communication scores. :)
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

crystal9, I wouldn't even bet money that ebay understand their own systems so I wouldn't worry about it not being clear.

The headline figures are OK, I wouldn't be looking to drop any lower than the current 4.6 though and maybe you need to look to try and get up nearer to 4.8-4.9 across the board.

However the underlying figures are slightly more of a worry, although it does depend on your level of sales. you've got a 1 or 2 star in all of your categories and 2 in your postage and that is going to affect your visibility. Basically they are telling you that in the past 3 months 2.28% of your buyers were concerned enough about your postage costs to leave a 'negative' star. Personally I would be loooking to address that, can you look again at your costs and see if they can't be shaved a bit? ideally go for 'actual' postage only (ie stamp cost) and leave out any extras for wrapping for the next few sales just to push the percentage back the other way. Overall in the past 3 months your postage star is only 4, and that isn't good.

    hi soolin,

thank you so much for replying to me. i realise that the postage has been a problem and i spoke to ebay about this. the thing is i been selling a certain item and the postage is £1.85 and i was charging £1.90 now for me there is no profit at all and i cant see why people are complaining as when the get there item they can see the price i paid. and also all feedback has been very good saying fares prices, fast postage etc.

there has been many a time that i have lost out with postage to. i'm begining to wonder if ebay is still worth using i dont sell much just my personal bits thats not wanted.

anyway thanks again for advice :D

You could try offering Free P&P and adding the postage to your start price. I normally do this for items that are likely to go for less than £10. See if that has any effect

Whilst I am not disagreeing with Cyberbob, psychologically it might be worth trying a few items with postage charged but less than the cost of the stamp. That means if buyers look at what they have paid on the post office label and realise that you charged them less than actual cost they might feel sorry for you and leave you 5 * across the board. So for the £1.85 postage charge £1.50..or such like. Once your stars are better you cna go back to charging actual.

When pricing in proportion was introduced by the RM I actually had to stop selling one of my best lines as the postage shot up as although the items were very light and flimsy they had to go as a packet, and that made it unworkable.

I've already posted this on another htread but I was asked to post it on here as well for people who had not used the expanded dashboard on ebay yet:

Log safely into ebay and look on your selling page. On the top you have three tabs one of which is 'account' hover your mouse on that (don't click) and you get a drop down box from which you choose 'seller dashboard'.

You get the seller detailed ratings then at the top of that page, you don't want any 1 or 2 * in that box at all, and it pays to check your 12 months status as well. It also clearly shows your performance and policy compliance.

Fiddle about in there as there are some great statistics, you can even see a month on month star chart for instance which is how some smaller sellers can work out how left poor stars. If you click on reports you can order a variety of things that will be there for you when you next check.
