reminder of upcoming changes on ebay

Hi,
I have been selling books for a charity on ebay for some months now and was just about coping with the P&P being set at £2.75 maximum.
Some of the books were really heavy and costing upto £8.00 and some were very light and only costing 0.76. I stated in my listing that P&P was set at £2.75 but buyers could contact me for the exact P&P if they wanted to.
I went to relist 305 books that had ended and was prompted to change all of the P&P on the books to 0.00!!
I can not afford to post these books for free as this would leave nothing for the charity and leave me at a loss.
So when I contacted Ebay I was told that I could offer additional services or include the P&P in the start price but this would mean more loss as I would then be paying listing fees.
And even more annoyingly I have now got to individualy edit 305 listings, which will take ages.
I am currently donating 65% to the charity, books are started on 50p or 99p depending on size etc. Most of them are selling for the 0.99. Which means I make a loss of 1p on the 99p books or 51p on the 50p books as missionfish take a minimum of £1 for each item. So on most books they are getting 100%+
It was all going ok as I was covering these costs within the P&P of the lighter items.
Is there an easier way of doing all of this?
I have 305 books to relist and about another 300+ to list from scratch and it is going to take forever. :eek:Look atfer the Pennies and the ££££'s will care for themselves :money:0 -
I do not think there is a bulk relist tool at all that allows a sweeping price change. Many of us have lots of books listed and personally the only way I have coped is to spend the past couple of months getting ready for the changes rather than do it at day zero. I appreciate this doesn't help you though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi,
Is there an easier way of doing all of this?
I have 305 books to relist and about another 300+ to list from scratch and it is going to take forever.
I use Auctvia http://www.auctiva.com/
I pay around £3 ish a month for this which gives you templates etc ...
However I think they have a FREE 30 day trail on now if you sign up..You could use this to change all your postage prices in only a couple of minutes after you sign up.
It will upload all your listings for you from ebay - Ended ones aswell - then use the option BULK EDIT , you can then edit all your items at once - which can be your p&p / title / items available / description ...so on and so on ....
Worth a try if you cant find another quicker way to alter all them listings !!Ebay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin
*£10 a Day Febuary Challenge £ 66.23 / £290 £2 savers#131
Crazy Clothes Challenge Me £3.99/ £200 Dd £16 /£200

soolin / all
thanks for help. I have foudn the sellers dashboard
my scores are
Item as described3.00%or (3)0.00% (0)Communication4.00%or (4)0.62% (1)
Dispatch time4.00%or (4)1.85% (3)
Postage and packaging charges4.00%or (4)1.85% (3)
If i get 2 more 1/2s for dispatch time or P&P I will have breached the threshold. I dont get why the number 4 is fixed. sURELY IF i SELL 1000 items I am far more likely to have more than 4 compared to a seller who sells 10 items?
what happens when (as I know I will) I get to 5 please?
Thanks0 -
I'm going to unsticky this soon as I'm sure we are all used to the changes now.
However, book sellers be warned there is a thread, which I don't think will last long so won't link to it, on the community boards about vigilante buying. Several of the large sellers are fed up with smaller book sellers adding postage in the auction terms, or saying items will be sent freight, when they are not or using wrong categories.
It looks like the campaign to report them all is taking too long and instead they have decided to start buying and refusing to pay anything more than book cost. Then putting in non performing seller complaints and a neg if seller insists on trying to add postage.
So if you are trying to get round the rules be careful, there is now a vigilante campaign to take sellers down.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I just got this mail about upcoming changes to the usage policy
It looks we gotta pay a fee depending on where we are buying from!
Of course I'm a newbie and can't post links0 -
i often cant be bothered with stars when i leave feedback, does that affect the seller?
also my postage is not rated that great and i only charge for post and packaging as i use new mostly and print it out so have to pay for printer ink as i cant wait for ages at postoffice with 3 kids in tow taking up to 45mins at times otherwise and its an hours roundtrip that i have pay for bus fare so add about 10-20p for that which i just think is fair.
wont be able to sell any bundles next month anymore as postage restrictions mean you can send about 500-750g which is not much for a bundle. any ideas on that?0 -
Free postage coming to an end - THANK GOD!
http://sellerupdate.ebay.co.uk/april2010/free-shipping-replacement.html
So if you are a buyer & have been watching something for a while, best get it now. But if you are a seller, it means you'll not have to swallow UK shipping costs for items such as CDs & DVDs etc. HURRAGH!No signature here. Move along please.0 -
I'll unsticky this now as it changed, and some even changed back again so I think we all roughly know where we are now.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
