Don't want to be the bearer of bad news, however posts on HDUK (where this was posted at around 10pm yesterday) indicate that orders for this mattress are now being cancelled by Tesco.

  • Sorry to be thick !, but it says in description:

    Assembled Dimension Units cm

    Assembled Dimension Depth 190
    Assembled Dimension Height 59
    Assembled Dimension Width 135

    Product Depth 191 cm
    Product Height 60 cm
    Product Width 136 cm

So how thick is the mattress (e.g. my current one is 22cm) ? And which one is the size of the mattress ? Cheers J

The thickness is 59CM (3 times thicker than your current one) and the width of 135CM is the width of a standard double mattress.

You would have thought if they had started cancelling orders that they would have at least fixed the price!

mattresssman.co.uk says they are 23cm deep and he charges £239 down from rrp of £585. Just order 2, one for the new bed in the spare room and one for my bed hope they come through. Interesting that the very low price does not show in your basket only when you go to buy it when it add a 2nd 50% discount. Email alt=ready come through confirming order and that they have only taken £292 from my card for 2. 584 cc points * 4 on deals equals another £23.36 saving bringing them down to £270, what a result.

an interesting point raised in the thread over at HDUK
Firstly this is a good price for this type of mattress, however a few points to note!

Its a cage sprung unit, similar to the silentnight mirrorcoil system but a little more advanced with a foam topping.

Sealy after many years are now coming around to the idea that Pocket Sprung systems are best, being part of the Rest assured / Silentnight group they are incorporating pocket springs into their latest range of mattresses (What does that tell you).

For this reason they are selling off their higher end cage sprung mattresses and in future only using this system in their low end of the range. (What does that tell you).

Look on any bed / mattress website and the older cage sprung range of sealys are all on offer (many half price).

Finally they are even moving away from memory foam as the new range of latex mattresses are offering all the benefits of foam but without the extra heat , lack of support etc etc.

This is a basically an end of line mattress, that was at its peak around £700 now around £250 - for £143 a bargain
  • Perfect for the spare room :)
