Should I be angry?

I have had my house on the market for a month and have had 1 viewing which was a week last Saturday. The buyers seemed very interested and the EA followed up the viewing and also said the buyers were very happy and were asking for the home report. They said they would follow up in a week to for further info. A week has passed (just) and i phoned them today. Assistant said that it had possibly slipped the EA's mind and that she would remind him. I asked her about other interest - she said it had veen very quiet and they had only sent a few brochures. i asked for follow up feedback and she said they do not have enough staff to follow up brochure requests - if people are interested they will phone them. This doesn't seem right to me. Can anyone advise

How cheap was the EA compared to others?0

Some EAs do this as a matter of routine.
Whether you get angry about it is up to you. You should probably tell them you expect interested parties to be supplied information they request in accordance with the contract you have with them. And that if they don't pull their socks up, you will be dumping them and going with a better ea.0 -
ok first of all it is Savills so I paid a premium and secondly I also paid 500 quid up front so i don't want to lose that. Is it normal practice not to follow up brochures or should i be making a big fuss?Smile though your bank is breaking:)0

It would seem unusual to follow up brochures. Mrs Shadow and I probably took about 120 sets of details in the process of finding our present house. We would have been well annoyed if we had been followed up on brochures - it was more than slightly tiresome having stupid agents ringing up to tell us about new places on the market which did not remotely fit our specification except in the Agents' minds. However, we would wear being followed up as brochure takers in respect of our overall search - ie if we were monitored as potential buyers from an EA, but not as potential buyers of an individual property, IYSWIM.
So, it's only something remarkable if they don't follow up after a viewing.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I think if the viewers are truly interested, they will call the agent.0 -
We don't follow up brochures, it's just too time consuming and there's a lot of timewasters who will come in and take a load of brochures with no intention of moving. I do follow up if I know I have sent them to a motivated buyer, particularly if they have asked for a specific property, but I have to say that potential buyers aren't keen on being called by the EA. Most don't pick their phone up, and it's rare for someone to return a call!Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0

54druids,can I ask where in Scotland you are? Savills is a very upmarket estate agent and must be expensive. Do you own a large country or very expensive property. Sorry if that sound nosey but just wondered what market you were aiming for. I was very lucky and managed to sell my property within 2 weeks. I can't say I was always happy with my ea in those 2 weeks but they got the job done. The property was advertised through rightmove as well as their own website. I think most people head to rightmove as a first stop when looking for property or at least I do.Mortgage Free in 3-T2 : Started at £151,000 Nov. 2009 Mortgage Free Oct 1st 2015
