Morrisons Fine

Options
I have just received a parking charge notice through the post stating that because i had parked in their car park for longer than the allowed 2 hours (3 hours) and they say that they have photographic evidence of my car entering/leaving the car park and are fining me £40.

After reading many of the posts already put up, the advice is to just ignore it as they have no powers to enforce such a fine.

Can some body please tell me if this is the case, do i just ignore it?

I did use the shop for around an hour but also went to some other shops beforehand.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Just ignore it and they will eventually (after a few more letters) go away...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

    You haven't got a fine.

Supermarkets have no powers to fine anybody.

You used their free car park, and spent money in their shop. They could only pursue the car driver for their actual losses, which amount to a grand total of £0.00.

Ignore all the mickey mouse letters you get, you are under no obligation to say who was driving.

(And you know from personal experience I'm right!!!)

Do not respond to them in any way. Keep all the letters in box, never call or phone or acknowledge. Eventually these clowns will give up and go away. They have no legal right to take you to court, no matter what there threatening letters tell you.

Yawn ... how many parking spaces do you need exactly? And the correct grammar is fewer, not less.

    Quick update on this matter!

We've just received a letter from a debt collection agency (CCS Collect)
saying that we owe them £90 and they intend to collect, if we pay now we will avoid legal action and will also keep our credit record in reasonable order.

Is this another letter that we just need to ignore?

    Many thanks

This is the latest of a series of standard letters they send out, each designed to be more frightening than the last. They cannot do anything, or have an impact on your credit rating unless they go to court, which they will not as it is not cost effective.
