I like this quote from a representative of the parking company:-
"Our high-tech approach to managing retail car parks is less confrontational than clamping and towing - and is certainly more beneficial to drivers who do not suffer any delays or inconvenience - or extortionate release fees."
So a £150 invoice is not extortionate?
All they need to do is to put up a manned barrier to check if the people parking there have a right to be there. But, of course, that would cut off the parking company's "nice little earner".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
We've just received a letter from a debt collection agency (CCS Collect) saying that we owe them £90 and they intend to collect, if we pay now we will avoid legal action and will also keep our credit record in reasonable order.
I can absolutely promise you that CCS Collect will do nothing more than send out a string of stupid letters before eventually giving up; they're just another "trading name" used by the PPC in this mail-based scam.
Their threat about your credit record being affected is a ridiculous scare tactic. For any blemish to appear on your credit record you would need to fail to pay a CCJ, and in order to get a CCJ they would have to sue you and they're not going to do that because penalty charges are unenforceable0 -
2 Hours is nothing when shopping,
I am sure some of you MSE addicts spend longer that that in the shop.
Working out if the BOGOF offer is really cheaper then the bigger box or own label product, Then at the checkout with all your coupons.
If you use the supermarket cafe as well, you can spend more time in there than some staff.
And you all know who you are <g>
Know the checkout staff on 1st name terms lol0 -
Hi, I am in the same boat. My partner got a parking fine from Morrisons and we have received two letters from a debt collector agency saying they will be taking us to court if we don't pay the now doubled fine.
Shall we ignore this letter, even though it now appears out of Morrisaons hands?
Thanks0 -

For a start it's not a fine, and they will not be taking you to court because the only money they can claim back from you is any actual loss that has been suffered. As this was either a free car-park, or one where you paid a pound or so, then their case would be laughed out of court. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I have just received a £70 fine for overstaying 28 minutes.
I was changing the babies nappies, and feeding them before I drove off, as they were wet and screaming!. I will not shop in Morrisions again.
I will also leave the letters and see what happens, as actually I already have a bad credit rating, due to bankruptcy 3 years ago. And do nothing with credit anyway.! so let them just try.!
I am not in the mood to deal with them, I have enough on my plate with my family. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

For a start it's not a "fine", it's an unenforceable invoice. Your credit rating won't be affected because it will never get to court. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
