Have to admit I read this out of 'urgh' curiosity but Kacie, wow, what an amazing thing to do - and such a huge thing to do when you have grown your hair for such a long time.
Your eyes are amazing with your new haircut, it really suits you.

kacie, I've only just realised this was you I met at the Bristol OS meet! I remember you saying you were still getting used to short hair!
I can confirm that kacie looks absolutely stunning with short hair!
My hair was not quite as long as yours when I had it all off about 16 years ago, it was pyschologically weighing me down.
I had it done at a salon's charity day, that way I felt that at least if I hated it then the money had gone to a good cause. Actually I loved it and have never looked back.
Although I still have my hair in a box somewhere. I also have ponytails from DS1 and DS3, they both had it down their backs. DS1 had it shaved off in aid of the charity I work for, first I knew about it was when I got a JustGiving notification! :rotfl: DS3 wants to sell his but hasn't put any effort into finding someone to buy it.
When I do a grand clearout before we move, maybe I'll be able to part with it all then. Although I may have to keep a tiny bit - didn't the Victorians used to make it into brooches etc?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
What about donating hair gathered from bath and shower plug holes? Would any charities mind me handing that in?0

I had my hair cut a couple of months ago and keep forgetting to send it off but Im donating it to Little Princess Trust. I had grown my hair for 3+ years as I wanted it long but it got so hard to manage and went so curly that it took me hours to straighten it all the time and I couldnt take a bath and go to bed because I wouldnt get the brush through in the morning! I now have shoulder length hair and have 20 inches to donate. I will have to see about sending it tomorrow, Im just so forgetful!
Well done Kacie, your new hairstyle looks lovely.Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -
I had hair down to my waist, and had it all chopped off for charidee. Ended up with a cropped hairstyle - which really confused people in the office! I sold the hair to a hair merchant/wig makers (has to be longer than 10in I think), and that, along with the 1.5K-or-so in sponsorship went to CLIC Sargent:

P.S. please, whenever possible, donate money to the charities directly, rather than Justgiving, so that they get ALL of it...0
