Following disastrous results in February after LASEK Wavefront 'surgery' @ Optimax Finchley Rd, at his request, I recently met with Russell Ambrose (CEO) & am awaiting the outcome of my appt @ Moorfields before we resume compensation discussion.
If you believe you may have a right to compensation, please check out; https://www.optimaxruinedmylife.co.uk0 -
Hi, does anyone have a £300 Optical Express voucher spare that I might have please?0
-
Hi Jimmy,
If you sign up for newsletters/ or even justr ask a question you will find yourself recieving these vouchers all the time.
I have an email voucher that i can send but I'm not sure if you are allowed to post email addresses on here? If so then I'm more than happy to forward it to you if you let me know.
I have decided to go for ultralase (in 2 weeks!!) so wont be needing the voucher.
What you might find useful is if you mention the voucher at your consultation they will write it in your file. I told them that I had recived an email previously for £300 off but had deleted the e mail- they said they would honour the discount anyway.
As it turns out, I didnt delete the email, so you're more than welcome to make use of it.0 -

Hi all,
I'm planning on having laser eye surgery with either Optimax, Ultralase or Optical Express very soon. Anyone know of any offers going, or how to achieve their best quote at the consultation?
Thanks...0 -
Hello,
I have some vouchers for £150 off at Optical Express, where I had mine done a year ago.
pm me your address if you would like one sending out 1st class post!0 -
I had a consultation at Ultralase this morning who told me I was suitable for all types of surgery and recommended I have the most expensive LASIK with wavefront etc. The price for this was about £5000.
Does anyone have any experience with Ultralase? Are they likely to reduce this price, and to what? My prescription is not bad (-1.5) so should I go with OE or Optimax instead perhaps?0 -
Hello,
I had my treatment at Optical Express a year ago.
Mine was £3,000 if that is any help?
I could have had it cheaper, but I went for the top options - they all call them something different, but I had wavefront and where the flap is made by the laser as well (can't remember the names now, but they will be on my previous posts).
It really is one of the best things I have ever done and like everyone says, wished I had done it sooner!
I play squash and go swimming, so it has been great for me.
My prescription was -5 in each eye I think. I couldnt see much without glasses, put it that way!0 -
Just wanted to post here as i came across this thread when researching options for lasering.
I had my eyes done on Saturday just gone at Ultralase in Leeds. So far, so amazing. I am very impressed and my vision is great already after 3 days and it should settle down more over the next few weeks.
I was -7.50 and -8.00 so v. short sighted. Was originally quoted £5000 for the Ultr Elite treatment and managed to negotiate this down to £3000 (had also had a consultation with Optical Express in York), so played the two off each other a bit. This was with 18 months interest free credit, so im happy with the monthly payment.
The staff at the the clinic were lovely, and i would highly recommend!0
