Do You Get Involved When Your Teenagers Argue?

If they start when they're in the same room as you tell them you don't want to hear it and bundle them elsewhere, i.e upstairs to one of their bedrooms
My SIL used to send hers out into the garden - rain, hail or snow.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Three boys, 3 and 2 1/2 years between them. Arguments very rare :T
I was one of four girls, who bickered and fought non-stop, lol![/QUOTE
There were 5 of us kids and the only ones that argued were me and my sister who is a year older than me. We get on very well now. But she used to start and argument and then say "you can't hit me because I wear glasses" I was always paying my pocket money for new glasses as that really wound me up. That's why she did it.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

My sister used to intervene all the time and all it ever achieved was high blood-pressure for her and also just made the kids angry with her instead of each other. I don't know why she bothered; as another poster mentioned I'd just chuck them outside in the garden and leave them to sort it out between themselves. They'd probably pack it in if you make it quite clear that you're not going to get involved unless there's bloodshed0

Why not teach them some ways to solve disagreements instead of arguing? They will then have techniques for dealing with other situations that make them angry such as at school or work.0

Offer to referee. Yellow card, red card, sending off and suspension etc.................

My two daughters (16 and 15) fight all the time, I just tune it out and totally ignore it. They've always been very competitive and are total opposites in personality, both always think they're right and and both think they have to have the last word.
My attitude is that they are both well able to talk the hindlegs off a donkey, so they can sort themselves out. They usually do, complete with melodrama and hysterics.
Peace reigns for about two minutes before the next eruption. Par for the course...I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

My boys are 10 and 12 and fight constantly. On a Friday night the eldest goes swimming with his friend and after about 20 minutes the younger one is asking how long it'll be till he comes back as he's missing himHere I go again on my own....0

In my house the brothers argue almost constantly, but when my older son was on a school trip for 5 days we didn't have a single arguement in the house
My Mum was of the 'no blood, no problem' attitude towards our arguing too, although she did throw us in the garden a fair few times when it got too much for her:p1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

I also have a 12 year old boy, and a nearly 11 year old boy, i do have to intervene as they can be quite physical with each other, fists flying etc.
I hate it, really upsets me, but i was exactly the same with my sister...0 -
We have four girls. They don't "argue"- they just bicker...and bicker...and bicker...and then, they sleep.Only dead fish go with the flow...0
