I once reported someone for using my images and ebay removed MY listing instead. The other seller had obviously seen my pictures and thought they were better than their own, edited their listing and swapped the images for mine. The response from ebay was that as the other listing had started first I must have copied their images. This was despite the date being visible on the pictures I took matching the date I started my listing and my having a piece of paper with my user ID showing at the edge of the image.
I was annoyed because it was detailed images of an expensive handbag showing the small details for authenticity. The other member could have used my pictures to sell a fake.

That's awful. Poor you. Are ebay really that stupid..? How could they miss your username on there? They must've just looked at the listing/dates and not bothered to look at the pictures properly.

    Karma for you.

Teach people for being so anal imo :). I nabbed pictures of someone who nabbed pictures off the website of the product. Big woop.

Thats different though the pictures were not taken by the person, if someone has taken the time to take the pictures and use their own creative wording why should another ebayer duplicate the listing? This may confuse ebayers as they may think the listing has been duplicated, plus this may effect the selling of the ebayer's item who created the listing in the first place. So I do not believe that it is fair to call it 'karma.'

Does anyone know how long it takes once you have reported a listing for them to remove it? As I reported the listing last night for the violation and it still hasn't been removed and the listing ends tonight.

Good luck dealing with ebay's non existent customer serivce.
  • Grrrr ebayer has relisted the item again after two weeks using my picture! Also has changed the wording around but most is still the same! Also she has it as 'new without tags' but states in the description she has worn it once? That is going to mislead buyers! Will have to report it again.

Is the photo just in your hardrive or linked to a photo site? If the latter, I would be tempted to change the file to something more 'adult' shall we say?

lol there was a link to a listing a few months back where the original owner of the picture had done just that - bet that was the last time that seller stole any pictures ;)
