Made my elf passport today, just waiting for the boys to go to bed so i can print it and laminate the cover.

I saw on a blog somewhere today, a family had bought a postbox, (american style one) that they used for the elf to sleep in and receive special letters/gifts from santa it was really cute, trying to remember the link to the blog.

have just bought a snowflake punch to punch out snowflake shapes for the magic snowbag.

Whats everyone using as the elf's journal, just a covered note book?

has anyone started buying supplies in yet/treats/suprises?

My list to do just keeps getting bigger
need to make lots of paper snowflakes so i (the elf)can decorate the boys room on the 12th
print off personalised stories 7 colouring pages etc...

our elf journal is a £1 shop a4 lined bok with elf pics glued to it, nothing fancy!

supplies - LOADS! iceland had tubs of 40 chocolate santas/snowmen etc for £3.99, so i got a box, have bought them a candyland game, hand puppets to make, magnet making kits, rubber stamoing kit, boy bracelets with names on, "elf hats", fake snow in a bag - most of which have come from £1 shop/wilkinsons (97p crafts) or ebay under £1.50. apart from game.

as for making snowflakes - when i did it last year i sat and cut them out the night i was doing it or the kids would have found them, and the same with most bits i did.
due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

for the journal i got a lined book in tescos, i'm going to put wrapping paper over the cover.
for the supplies, i've got chocys, craft things, a kids appron from poundland, cant remeber what else.
If anyone has a co-op shop, they have their chupa chups 30 mini lollypops (halloween packaging) bags for 25p, these are some of our treats.

Hi all, I have done this for the last two years and am in again this year:)

My elf is an Alan Dart 'gnome' called snowball. He visited in 2008 then brought his wife Snowbelle with him last year .
During her visit her tummy grew bigger and bigger until she popped on Xmas Eve giving birth to Baby Belle.

The kids had to wrap them up very warm for their trip back on Christmas Eve. They will all be back again this year with more antics and a few more chums ;)

I think Snowball may be on FB too but haven't checked it out yet;)

To the owner of Buddy Jingles... lol!!

Actually, I really think we should somehow put a link to (or have some easy guide to) our MSE names..it's all confusing without having to scan through pages of this thread... any ideas how to make it easier???

Anyway, can I pinch your idea of the elves arriving with a dog pleease? :):)

Have seen an aurora border collie with a santa hat on ebay who is adorable. We got our puppy in April this year and think my two would love it (although ours is a different colour!!)

thinking about it, how about starting a 2010 elf thread?

I don't mind starting one if someone wants to do it with me?

all elves names (as someone has already done I know) but with MSE'ers next to it and then do a list of ideas and links etc ...

We could combine all the ideas and links on the first page of the thread?

this is getting rather a long thread to trawl through now! :D
