Hi all, I have read this thread and have to been drawn in!! I have 2 sons 8 and nearly 4 so they would looooove this. OH likes the idea aswell. I am having real problems in finding an elf or 2. I have looked on ebay and amazon but there doesn't seem to be a 'normal' looking elf. I was thinking of getting 2 so there are no arguements but at this rate I'll be lucky to get 1!
If anyone can point me in the right direction of a reasonabley priced elf I would be very greatful.
I think this one is very sweet for a more unusual elf...

Im absolutly loving this thread :j Just spent the whole afternoon reading through it all and looking at all the links. My DD who is 4 will absolutly love this.
I have ordered myself one of the lovely "Plush Santa's Secret Elf Girl 11" from the US Amazon - is costing about £22 with delivery which i know is rather alot but i thought seen as she is going to hopefully be in the family for many years to come its an extravagance im happy to spend !
I now have about a month to plan for her arrival on the 1st December. I think she will 'appear' on the fireplace in the morning along with her little passport, a journal book (handmade) and my DDs advent calander.
I will also try to plan out all the activities DD and elf can do together and all the naughty mischief the elf will get up to on her own.
I think i love all the planning and preparations for christmas as much as the actual day !!
Considering doing the facebook thing as my DD would think its hilarious to see the elf on the computer with all her elfy friends !! Not really very good with facebook though, will see how i get on for time.
Thanks to everyone for all the great ideas and suggestions :beer:0
