well "bertie's best friend" jingle-jangle has just been won on ebay, as has "the elf in training" girl!!! jingle-jangle will only be coming for a few days as "he has his own host family"...... which bertie "can pay a return visit to" (few days of peace when i cant think of anything or kids are bad!!!
the elf in training is just that for this year BUT may come back every year if the kids want her to, or i may do the same as jingle-jangle.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

I was going to have my elves arrive with advent calendars on Dec 1st. But usually I get our calendars quite early and the kids get all excited drooling over them for 2-3 weeks before Dec 1st! Already they've been asking me when I'm getting them, how do I explain why I'm not getting them this year?!
Or shall I just give them the calendars early and get the elves to bring another small gift instead?
Mine have their calendars off me too, i am going to make little elf sacks out of felt and fill with gold chocolate coins for when they arrive.0 -
i bought a gold metal sleigh off ebay last year, i think it cost me £5 inc postage. its lovely. bertie had a ride around my living room being pulled by toys.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

I bought calendars for my 2 DD's a month ago and they know they've got them as they are still on the kitchen side. However they are going to 'disapear' in the next few days and I will make a fuss about trying to find them.
Then they will 'magically' appear with Percy on 1st Dec along with a few other goodies!0 -
Snowy Sugar Plum now has her own facebook page too. As soon as our little elf arrives and i upload a piccie of her i think she will be hunting round on facebook looking for some friends
Just had confirmation that she has been dispatched from US but may not arrive until 2nd December  If shes late she probably just got sidetracked exploring with some of her other elfy friends.
Just thinking about snowys arrival and remembered that for xmas last year DD got a lovely white reindeer soft toy that is hidden away with all the other xmas decs so i think i will have snowy riding in on that !
Love the ideas of the sleighs too but dont think i have the patience (or skills) to try and build one from cardboard.
Trying to be ultra organised and preparing a list of activities/mischielf Snowy will get up to and then i can buy/make anything i need in advance.
When i told DH about Snowys arrival he wasnt that bothered - but i bet he will be the first one to set her up with mischief !!!

Facebook is all set up for our little elf...Buddy Frostbells....really wanted a weird name but thought the 2 yr old would struggle so went for a sensible 1st name:)
I have a sleigh with 6 reindeer for him to arrive on (an old kleeneze decoration).
Will update pics on fb when he arrives from America:)is officially a GLEEK0 -
Just been in my local tesco and they have a display of largish Christmas cuddly toys for £5. There is a standing reindeer in a stripey coat who would be perfect for elves riding in on, but it is quite big, not sure what you'd do with it afterwards! Even when shopping I've got elves on the brain!
Somewhere in my loft I've got a little wooden sleigh that came with a porcelain doll, kids have never seen it, I may have to dig it out!
I think I'm going to just give them their calendars as usual and go with the chocolate coin idea, I could put a small sack of them on the back of the sleigh!
Are people having the Santa letter arrive the same time as their elf, or a bit before?0
