BerryJingles - i havve just ordered an xmas rucksack from ebay

Its about the same size as Snowy will be !! but i thought that way there will be plenty of room for her passport, journal, some pocket money (chocolate coins) and any other little treats i think of.
I was thinking of near the end of November saying to DD that there is a chance that an elf could come to stay with us but we would need to write to Father Christmas to ask him. The letter from FC will then arrive (in Snowys rucksack)

PurpleMunckin - The bag is cute!
I was thinking if the Santa letter arrived the same time as the elves, the children would see the elves first and their first thought would be that they were toys. Whereas if they received the letter first it would already be in their minds that they were 'real' if that makes sense! But then my kids are quite sensitive and may worry about what this 'elf' coming into our home would be like! I think I might have the letter arrive first, but then the elves later the same day, so they don't have time to worry!0 -

2nd December? hopefully, they are giving you that date to cover themselves!
Mine are coming from the US too.. I ordered mine from Ebay on Saturday. Was hoping they'd be here in 7-10 days!
My elves arrive on their advent trains (like these, but they are white: http://www.crowdersonline.co.uk/shop/christmas/ornaments/wooden-advent-train ).
The letters from Santa arrived with them last year along with the passports etc.. I may send a little letter beforehand this year though.
So far, the gifts I have got that they will bring are a Christmas DVD and a book called Santa Claus needs a wee!
If anyone is stuck for sleeping bags for the elves, I got a pack of two small hot water bottle covers last year from the poundshop.0 -

my now 5yr old wrote and asked santa for an elf in his "i would like for xmas letter" 3yrs ago. we received a letter back from santa saying that an elf had been asinged to us and would arrive on dec 1st.
when elf arrived there was another letter from santa, explaining about the elf and what it did etc. also with him was passport, journal, bag of snow and few other bits.
they havent had a letter since.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

a journal is a brilliant idea. ds1 is 6 and is writing quite alot now so could write it and put in pictures.
i can see i have alot more to organise. we are going to have Otis's 2 friends staying as well. Elf Santa (Santas right hand elf) and Angel Elf. I just need to buy the fluff for Elf Santas coat and I need to make Angel Elf. Think I need to have a look in attic for an old printer. I am sure there is one up there somewhere!!! :P0 -
Ive also ordered a Father Christmas apron for DD and this will arrive one day with cooking ingredients to make gingerbread biccies. Ive also got a few xmas craft bits in the cupboard which i got from the £ shop last year.
I was also thinking a set of xmas pyjamas to arrive 23rd Dec all ready for christmas eve.
Im going to make up little packages of the snowman soup for 24th Dec for me, DH and DD, we already have Merry Madagascar from last year so we will all sit down and watch that. I expect my DD has forgotton the DVD so i will pop that in little Snowys rucksack too.
Just thinking how handy the rucksack will be, not only will her arrival gifts be in it when she first arrives but each morning will have that days activities / gift etc in and also her journal with the previous days activites & mishcief
Im so sad - im getting so excited about this :rotfl:0 -
