    Hi Everyone!

Just wondered how people are going to introduce the elves 'Facebook account' to their children? Are you going to request yourself as a friend so on your 'normal' FB account, you have your elf as a friend and show your children that way? I am so confused.........!!!!!! :D

I have added myself as a friend on my elfs face book once he arrives I am going to send a friend request to my daughter (15) - my 8 year old does not have an account.

I got my elf, from ebay he is fab, the pic is not so great as i sneakily took it so the kids could not see

  • my kids do have facebook accounts - including the 1yr old - i needed extra friends for a game so set them up accounts - there are no pics of my kids on their page and they have limited friends - family and my 2 best mates who are their godmothers. so once bertie has a few more elf friends, i will send them friend requests.

the older 2 only play the game i needed friends on and with 1 of us nearby so they dont add random ppl etc.

  • Well, I've just been having a conversation with myself on facebook (between my 2 elves), whatever next?!!:rotfl: Nice to have some new elfie friends on there!

knithappens - it's a good idea to have other elves/friends visiting for a short spell. It will help to keep the whole thing fresh, especially if you intend doing this for a few years and get short of ideas! My elves have got a friend who specialises in baking who's going to be popping by to make mince pies, leaving gingerbread men to decorate etc! You could always keep an eye out at charity shops for little friends!

For anyone still looking for an elf, if you search on ebay for 'gnome' in the soft toys and stuffed animals section, there's a couple of possible elves. Including one that's perfect if you like your elves a little plump! :rotfl:Sorry, I can't post links.

:Dhaven't had the time to do anything with my facebook elves yet apart from setting their accounts up... but thanks to all of you that have requested / confirmed friends with my two (dixie crackerjingles and bauble sprout).

I've flicked on to FB earlier and some of your posts and photos have made me laugh!!

I was tempted to put some piccies on of mine from last year but we had different names for them and I am not sure if the Tatty Teddys have the mischevious look I am after this time!

Am spending the weekend looking at christmassy displays on the hope I can find a boy and girl that aren't the same as anyone elses!!

    wish me luck!!

ahhhh, woke up this morning, and the first thing that popped into my head was, must add Pingu to my elf's facebook page
  • I've actually got 3 main elves as I've got 3 children. Buddy Jingles, Holly Berry and Buddy's sister Bell Jingles. As DD2 is too young to understand this year Bell is only going to come for a quick visit, probably on the last day, she will then visit 'properly' next year. So DD3 isn't left out though, Buddy is bringing his dog Snowy Woof-Woof this time, so she'll have something to cuddle! Also, it will be something extra and different to look forward to next year. We also have Gingerbread Cookie who will visit for a couple of days each year to make mince pies and do special baking things!

Bell and Gingerbread need some a few alterations to their outfits (they weren't actually elves when I got them!) but when they're finished will put them on facebook.

Bell is also going to have a Christmas fairy friend called Wish Starbright who will hopefully visit next Christmas for a short while (I haven't got her yet), she will probably turn up on top of the Christmas tree! On my blog I've even listed Holly as having a cat, so if I get short of ideas in a couple of years, she can visit and get up to cat-like mischief, opening a tin of tuna and drinking milk for example!

As you can tell I'm taking this very seriously lol! But I love it and my oldest 2 are nearly 8 and 6 so will appreciate the details. I intend doing this for years to come so will need to keep injecting new ideas. Even when kids are grown up hopefully we will carry on, maybe taking it in turns to make the elves do funny/outrageous things and try and out do each other! Otherwise it will be a sad day when the elves visit for the last time.:(

lexuslass hope you have luck in finding some elves, i think there are a lot like mine about but when I saw them I knew the kids would love them!

knithappens I look forward to seeing Pingu!

Wow! Sorry for the extremely long post!
