To me a new member is the same as an old member....if I find them funny or informative, it doesn't matter one jot if they have one star or five stars.

Couldn't care how many stars a person ha, but old posters often feel like friends. The board badly needs new blood. New people, new opinions, new stories I find most welcome.

I was once a newcomer to this board and at first didn't think I would belong as I am not a home owner or even a person who wants to own but after trying other boards where my particular sense of humour doesn't quite work (people think I am being serious which 90% of the time, I am not!), I found this board had fellow warped and weird humour people in it.

So it felt like home and here I stayed, only to venture out when it's a full moon into the mortgage board (ok a bit more often than that to be honest).

Serious Q here....I so don't think this board is that weird or strange at all.
    Is it?

OK, some strong views and a few that get a bit addicted for a while....but addictions often come from feelings of insecurity or being unheard/unlistened to, perhaps in Real Life, and, it passes after a while.

I don't think it's weird either but other people see us as pretty weird types....I just know I am weird with a warped sense of humour which sits quite happily on this board but very few others.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I'm always just me :) although I do use different names on different sites - only because years and years ago I used to post a lot on various sites and learnt quite quickly it's nice to be able to escape one site for another sometimes :D

Have made a lot of real life friends through forums so don't see the point in pretending to be someone I'm not - would hate to disappoint :D

In no time at all if you join in, are friendly and chatty, while paying some attention to the fact that it's a House Prices and Economy board. ;)

I think that's what makes this such a great board. People know the boundaries of good taste (or they soon find out). Every reasonable money saver is accepted and it's a great community.

Some are pretty outspoken but I hold to my view that this is a friendly and accepting place to hang out.
