Purely for fun until Ms Kool moves it - all votes are anonymous but I would be interested in peoples thoughts on the whys...

As this thread is just satisfying my curiosity I am 'for one time only' going to do a NDG and thank everyone who replies. Particularly interested in people who feel they are not the same person on here as in real life and in those who post on here under multiple user names - what do they feel this achieves?
I think....

What do you mean someone else? A different manner of behaving, released from normal social inhibitions, able to to behave in a way that you would never dream of doing off the board? Freed from financial or social worries, and no burden of having to be judged on your appearance?

Or do you just mean a different User name?

Hopefully the poll makes it clearer what I mean?

I use the same username everywhere I post and only post as me (no doubt I would be an easy target for identity theft) but may be if shows I lack the imagination to be a bit more creative in a medium that obviously allows you to be anyone you want to be? Also probably explains why I never got anywhere with on-line dating long ago when I was single.

All sounds a bit schizophrenic to me.
  • I have 2 usernames - I use one for this site and the other for everything other site.

I have the same pesonality - what you read is what you get - it's the same on every site.

I'm not organised or imaginative enough to have different usernames/personalities for the same site - I'd probably forget who I was meant to be.

Wageslave here, different user name for everywhere else.
No way could I use my "real" user name here. Some clever sod would google it.

It is entirely possible he will be disappearing a great deal sooner than that.
