    No scaredy Ive seen her walking along a very rural road which leads in past the allotment. Today was the first time she has been this close to town.

    Since all of my grandparents are dead,I sometimes have a secret fantasy about discovering a little old lady in our village with no family who I keep an eye on as a sort of surrogate gran....until then,I'll make do with helping out at the OAPs Xmas lunch...
    I wish I'd talked more to my Grans when they were alive-they lived through the May blitz in Liverpool and must have had tales to tell...
    Debt-free...and staying that way...

    Bunny, so sorry to hear about your cousin's lad. Fingers crossed they can do something for him. On the positive side, at least they found out before it was too late.

    Sal, not sure how you can help. I've got a few pashminas I got years ago. Might they help keep her warm?

    my grandad was captured in germany and when he was recaptured after his 3rd escape, they shot him in his knees. i would loved to have been able to talk to him about the war....
