That is sad Sally-is there anything you can do for her? Have you ever spoken to her?

No ive never spoken to her and I was overwhelmed to offer her something but when she lives rough and carrys very little on her I wasn't sure what I could offer her. Without knowing her or her circumstances I wouldn't want to offer something like a bath/shower or a hot meal as who knows. But equally I can't really offer much else

Could you offer her some of the stuff off your allotment, stuff that doesn't need cooking? Maybe if you've got any old blankets that you're never going to use?
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I did think of stuff from the allotment but I only have carrots..not exactly filling but I guess better than nothing. If I see her again I might say to her she can help herself to those. Might keep my eyes open for blankets on freecycle (I dont have any spare)

I know its weird but Im sat here like a loon just thinking about her and wondering where she is sleeping tonight. I guess its because you don't often see old ladies sleeping rough (well not around here)

  • That would play horribly on my mind Sal-especially if the weather was bad...although you might not be able to think of anythng to do for her, maybe just a kind word would be something-or does that sound awfully patronising?

There is an old guy who walks up and down our road every saturday and I worry about him, I figure he has somewhere to live but he seems to collect rubbish or something. Mum worries he might be a nutter so I have never spoken to him. I just hope he is ok........

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
