  • my grandad was captured in germany and when he was recaptured after his 3rd escape, they shot him in his knees. i would loved to have been able to talk to him about the war....

    I think my son is collecting our family history - keeps telling me stuff that happened to my parents when they were younger that they never told me... I suppose it's just that he asks questions constantly and they answer whereas they would have told me to bog off by then!

  • That is amazing Scaredy! My grandad was in the desert rats in Egypt too.I was once stuck in a lift at Gatwick with an older gent who was in the same regiment as him in WW2.
    One of the books I read on holiday was pay it forward.I try to do a good deed whenever I can..
