Do you mean the Morrison's conditional spend coupons or coupons specific to Morrison's? Conditional coupons are okay for them to take but not the ones specific to another store. I think gill meant the store was taking coupons specific to Morrison's, not the conditional spend ones.;)

Thinking along the same lines Sher...;) tho confused as not seen any Somerfield S&S? And if these are around they generally would scan too so T's wouldn't have a problem on accepting them? Would be very interested to know if BF meant conditional spends or store specifics...
  • Postie brought two lovely gifts this morning:
    1. Two booklets of money off coupons for The Guardian to last 8 weeks. (45p Mon-Fri, 60p Sat, 90p Sunday Obsever) These have come just right to replace the recently finished Times coupons. They're just the right size to keep alongside the odd pic-a-pac coupon in your purse for swift production when the SA says, "that's 70p please" !!

    2. Three juicy pedigree mocs - the big fat ones! They'll help tremendously in getting MOC total up towards the £30 mark which is the spend necessary to use the Sainsburys £5 off £30 shop coupon which is currently burning a hole in my purse.

Ageing is inevitable - maturing is optional :p
  • Has anyone else heard of this happening? Or is the coupons being stopped just a local issue. Cheers.

 i am fumeing i have just finished work and on the way home i always call in to my small local tesco's garage that's also mini super market i have been doing this for nearly a year and they accept all forms of coupons e.g. internet and newspaper ones. and over the past couple of weeks i have noticed it has gotton buisier and buisier and one of the assistants told me that the word has got around that they take all coupons and greedy people have been traveling from afar and in groups of 3,s 4,s and 5,s they have been going in and doing there shopping taking it to there car and then going back for more shopping and they all do this for up to 7 or 8 times (TALK ABOUT TAKING THE !!!!) . anyway upon entering tonight i got half way round with my shopping only to be told they had stopped taking all coupons as of last nite they had an email sent yesterday to tell them to stop it with imidiate effect. the greedy people have spoilt this for all the regulars that went in and did not abuse the coupons , i only ever went round the once then came out. SO WELL DONE TO YOU ALL YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE THANKS FOR SPOILING A GOOD THING  i just had to get this of my chest i am giong to try and wind down now

I have just tried to use Tabasco coupon in Waitrose and it would not scan, so be prepared that it will probably be necessary for the SA to input code. Not sure it is worth the hassle for the 30p especially as heavy on ink when printing.

Collected a trolley on the way in & some kind soul had left 4 of the neck collars from the Badger beer. Just off to try my luck for the car (so far, only managed to get 3 correct) & collect my 50p coupons.
  • the assistant told me that all stores were recieving these e-mails , but i think its at the managers disscresion wether or not to act on stopping the coupons

I'll take it all back regarding SmartCoupons (for now), when I got home, I too had 3 nice Pedigree MOC's through the post, not the biggest value ones, but all over £1.:T This makes up for the ones I missed when they GENUINELY didn't print.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D

On the subject of coupons I was thinking that it'd be more profitable for T's (yet, I agree more time consuming for their staff :p:D) if we gave in smaller coupon denominations... so if I gave, say about, 6 of the Pic a Pacs MOCs at 25p each Mr T would make around 12p on top of the coupon value (if the handling fee was about 2p)... on the other hand if I gave a coupon of £1.50 T's would only make an extra 2p...:D so, the more coupons they accept the more they earn on handling fees? And the beauty of this is that Mr T doesn't have to pay any charges to the credit card Companies or the bank lol...:p
Dunno about that - you'd have to factor in the SA's wages.

Say for instance a checkout operator gets £8 per hour, that's 13p per minute cost to Mr T. (Ignoring any employer's NI)

So they'd have to scan 7 coupons per minute (at 2p handling fee each) to be in profit.

Now a Saturday lad could easily scan at least 20 per minute but a midweek trout may take 10 minutes per coupon... ;)
