well, I had a VERY good MOC evening in my local store, even though the team leader did their usual of going through each MOC with a fine tooth
    comb.

I think it is a race against time til pedigree pull the plug on that one though personally.

Failing to do more than one quote tonight but if the team leader was letting Eukanuba ones through I wonder what else they'll put through.
Everyone could lose out due to 'staff connections'

can I just clarify something, they were checked, i wasn't faffing about trying to sneak through and didn't know at the time it wasn't stocked, neither did they.
all the team leaders at my store now couldn't care less whether I work there or not, they are stilll vigourous about checking coupons, whether we stock it etc, to the point that i don't even try and go through without getting them checked any more. think about it, if they weren't bothered about what i was putting through they wouldn't even check them.
Farmfoods coupons, don't know if all tescos take them but mine does, they come in a flier with my local paper on a wednesday. £5 off £50 spend and £2.50 off £25 spend. And Co-Op (used to be called Rainbow) do money off coupons in my local paper too, usually £4 off £30 or thereabouts. Because I spent so much i could use several of them, plus my staff discount, all the ones printed off the front page (had a mass print sesh a couple of nights ago as fella got a new laptop) and some originals I have as well.
    Won't buy nuffink without a discount :p

yup...they make it up as they go along.....

i think the fact that they wouldn't show you the document says it all!!!!

this is prob why it was banned...

for someone who works for T's, you don't play by the rules do ya:confused:

I can't not play by the rules when I didn't know there was anything even wrong with the coupon! this is news to me. I still had a couple left over and used them last week, they were checked etc and no one was bothered, hence why I was so suprised someone mentioned them being banned?!!!!

  • Apart from using loads of black ink (but then you should be able to get that for nothing using mocs ;-) I still think there is some value in this.. The trick seems to be printing correctly.. What I did was as follows:

Right click on the coupon image (not the background or anything else) in internet explorer and save it as a jpeg, then open the image in internet explorer or ms paint and print from there. Those two produced good results for me.

My first attempt was to open it in Microsoft Photo Editor. From there, it printed the image very small and was useless.

Definitely don't just print the whole web page from your browser

I right clicked on image and copied onto word. Looks ok to me. Will try it tomorrow. :D

I expect I'll get shouted at for sticking my neck out - but I'll stick it out anyway! Its only my opinion - and I really don't expect a lot of agreement - but I reckon that paying pennies for a 'shop' of over £100 is asking for trouble!

I know all about 'national policy' and how it appears that, technically, you can pay for your whole 'shop' in coupons - but you can't expect to get such a massive discount and not get noticed. It doesn't go down well with the staff and, once managers get involved, its pretty obvious that they will clamp down. Using great wads of coupons takes up a lot of CA time and irritates the hell out of customers behind you in the queue (to the extent that some even go off and complain to the manager that they will never shop in Tesco again cos of the wait- I've heard them do it.

A few lucky peole have local stores that really don't seem to mind but thats unusual and, increasingly, the policy is being clamped down and excessive coupon users are being banned. Just because you 'can' (according to national policy) tear the backside out of it doesn't mean that its sensible to do so.

  • While I am here, I really wish that some customers would use their brains and not photocopy coupons. The short term gain just isn't worth it, risking individual stores banning coupons altogether. It has been said before I know, but needs saying time and time again. I have "trouted" a few customers recently because of the blatant use of photocopies.:mad::mad::mad:

    Hi everyone,

Haven't been posting much as I am moving house in the next few days _pale_ but I managed to get to 2 Mr T's today and got 2 shops for 8p and 28p :D:D

Hope you are all well? xx

I've noticed the sad face at moving moyilla. I hope it's just sad because you're busy packing. Good luck with the move, and I hope you're near a T's that gives you an easy time after all the hassle you've had in the past.

Like you, I can't remember ever reading that the Huggies Smart Coupon was banned by Tesco. I am fairly sure it wasn't, especially if you've been using it and it still scans. Banned mocs are normally blocked.

Recalling posts on here, I think Huggies changed the coupon server back to Couponnet didn't they - pretty sharpish - when the Smart Coupon version was being overused & ebayed. But that doesn't mean T banned it, that's a different thing entirely.

Dunno for certain, 'cos I didn't use either of them (I can't get Couponnet except via swapping on PTS!;):D).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Shouted at, not at all.

Every time i have been stopped at a till, the line managers say "your ok, you spend a lot, but those people who spend pennies for their shop are the ones that are ruining it"

But as you say, policy does state you can do it.

I rarely get more than 50% off my shop, and never pay less than a fiver. I just like to stay under the radar, and i am happy spending some of my own money and getting something extra for free. My store only accepts one coupon. But once a week i goto one that follows policy. I spend £30 and get £15 off on an average shop.

I don't know how people do it anyway - if you are paying pennies, you must have your whole shop mapped out and calculated. I just grab what i can thats got a long date, can be frozen or will make a good prezzie.

And i still don't know how people are getting these large amounts off. I read the thread, and print all the coupons on the front page, and never get anywhere near that amount. Last time i did it, i got £18 in total.

I'm not very good at this couponing lark am i, lol. :D
