If I claim JSA or claim CA then I only have to Pay £5 a week regardless of the CTC my partner gets?

    ..... Now you'll need Kelloggs36 for that. :p

I'm not 100% sure. I think it may depend HOW much tax credits you as a family are receiving. Hopefully she or someone else can answer for definite.
    August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61
    NSD : 2/8

If you have another income that would normally be taken into account if you were working, and it amounts to over £100pw - it will be used for csa assessments if you are not working. In a nutshell CTC is classed as your income for "another income" purposes.

With 6 children in your house and neither of you working, you will be getting over £100pw CTC.

    That's what I thought.

    Am so confused

I do not have 6 children in my house anyway but totally irrelevant

The above reply you have left is this if I am NOT claiming JSA or CA

Reason I ask is CSA have just sent me a amount for my child for what the mother has to pay and that is £5 as she gets CA and she gets well over £200 a week CTC so I am assuming you are referring to the amount if you are not on an eligible benefit..... please advise
  • You told us:

Number of nights the non-resident parent has the child(ren): less than 52
The non-resident parent is claiming benefits.
The parent with care is claiming benefits.
The amount to be paid is: £5
The parent with care will receive £5 of any maintenance paid
  • The non-resident parent pays a flat rate for child maintenance if:
    • their net weekly income is between £5 and £100, or
    • they or their partner who they live with gets Income Support, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Pension Credit, or
    • they are getting one of the following benefits:
      • contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
      • State Retirement Pension
      • Incapacity Benefit
      • Carer's Allowance
      • Widowed Mother’s Allowance, Widowed Parent's Allowance, Widow's Pension
      • Severe Disablement Allowance
      • Industrial Injuries Benefit
      • Maternity Allowance
      • a training allowance approved by the Department for Work and Pensions
      • Armed Forces Compensation Scheme payments
      • a War Disablement or War Widow’s Pension
      • Bereavement Allowance
      • a social security benefit paid by a country outside the United Kingdom.

This CLEARLY states that should the NRP or there Partner receive one of the following benefits and Carers Allowance is in there they pay a flat rate of £5 so why did someone post that it would not be taken into consideration?

    Thankyou

Just moved in with my partner

Any help greatly appreciated, my new partner is shocked that she is having to currently support my children and concerned what effect it will have on her own children, she has 5, and obviously feels she will be better off living without me :-(

Also my eldest son lives with me now

Above is how it appears you have 6 children in the house.

It doesn't say that at all.

    their = you
they or their partner = you or partner
    they = you

The other information over income in excess of £100 is later in the booklet you are quoting from.;)
