First Digital phone was a Sagem and it had the stumpy little ariel on it and that was when i got my first text from a random person.
I als oremember when looking to get my first contract the deals from various networks like Vodafone charging £9.99 per month with evening and weekend calls at 2ppm and daytime calls at i think 35ppm and the thing that got me over to one2one was the free voicemail and 10p texts0 -
How did I know this would be a one2one thread
I can remember the old blue Motorola brick phone when free evening/weekend calls were about.
I started off on an Ericsson PH388 when PAYG has just been introduced with call charges of 50p/min. Text messaging wasn't even available on PAYG at that time! I'm still using a one2one contract SIM from 8 years ago and it still says one2one on the standby screen
For the first time ever I am considering leaving one2one/T-Mobile.
Ah yes I remember connection charges....Orange loved them!0 -
Technically Orange still has the £35 connection charge, it's just been waived (on a "promotional" basis) for about the last 6 years
Showing my age, but my first phone was a Nokia 1611, my first 2G one was a Nokia 3110 (Navikey!) and my first use of the internet on a phone was via wap.google.com on my 7110 (loved the NaviRoller and the spring loaded slide).
Currently I run a Nokia 6510 so I'm still living the 'old days'“Official Company Representative

My first phone was a Motorola C520 on Orange, absolutely brick and weighed a ton.
I think my second phone was a Philips Savvy on BT Cellnet.. then I went to One2One :T
My fave phone from back in the day was probably the Nokia 402, had all these funky covers, flashing aerials etc.. :cool:This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -

Reply #7 - have to correct my own memory.
My first phone was Nokia 3210, purchased from Merry Hill Centre (Dudley) on pay and go for a whopping £99.99 - December 99.
Only thing I liked about that was the number which I no longer have but remember it - started with 07989 (cant get those back GRR).0 -
My first phone (0403 prefix) was from the Merry Hill O2 shop“Official Company Representative

Orange shop I think mine was - that 07989 is Orange pretty sure - I liked that number because digits are easy to say.
Got a niffty number now (very james bond-ish) though so still happy.0 -
I accidentally-on-purpose allocated a number (that for some reason was simply on a phone instead of on the Gold list) ending 666 to a customer called Stephen King once - couldn't resist“Official Company Representative

Wish somebody had given me a decent number free or by accident - mine cost me £17 from ebay (still a bargain it was) :-) .
Thinking about it - this could be a new business opportunity for companies to sell decent numbers - ooooer I am full of ideas today, wheres me commission....0
