First ever contract phone was with One2One Free voicemail, EFR call quality and a Nokia 5110. People used to make pictures out of the * # and dots and you could change the front cover.

My first was a Motorola brick phone. Can't remember what that was and that was on Vodafone when it was ano My first Digital phone was a....can't remember but i will look for it. I got my first text message on that and i heard my phone beep and a red light flashing but couldn't work out what was going on. Pressed a button and there was the word Hi............ and i spent hours trying to work out what the hell was going on. Hit the reply button and wrote Hello! This was when SMS was not realy known then and you could send them even if you had no credit.

Had a Siemans SL55 and brought my Dads first mobile and it was a siemans C35. Also had a Siemans A50 which was cool.

Can't remember what plan i had with One2One, cacn any of you remember?

I remember when my dad used to drive around in his supra turbo with a car mobile handset the size of a brick and a half! It used to be hilarious watching him go from hands free to taking a private call... hah!

Me sis got the first phone in the family on one2one - nokia 5110 me thinks.

I got my first phone with vodafone in 2000/2001 - paying an enormous £15 + VAT a month - with Ericsson T28 (remembert that), a phone which started overheating mid way through the contract GRRRRRRRRRR and went kupt.

Who remembers the days of connection charges - £35 to connect you or was it £45. Don't think I paid that myself - it was waived (how generous .... NOT).

Went on a few years later to get pay and go Sagem phones with some catchy tunes - like that Kylie theme tune which used to get people's attention.

Me and my son were talking about this last week.....colour scene and how many games were on phone was massive selling point.
I actually still have my first phone, a Panasonic "brick", from around 1997. It was £15 a month, and I had to pay for calls. I was too embarrassed to use it, not many people had mobiles, so I just wasted £15 a month :-)) :rotfl:
  • Did anyone have one of them chipped bt cellnet phones where everytime you turned it off then back on you got £10 of credit?
  • I had a Nortel as first phone....and I'm still using my first sim card from one2one, although with merger of t mobile and orange that may change. My first package was 60 mins free calls a month, I paid on an annual contract about £120 per year. Didn't start texting until years later!
