My partner & I are getting engaged and obviously want some cash for an engagement ring. I suggested a declutter and perhaps do a boot sale. Not looking for anything too flash (trying to be MSE) just something symbolic & simple.
Anyway, partner has agreed it's a good idea. So went rakeing in the loft and OH finds the shoe box with all my old bedroom wall posters. Depeche Mode, Kajagoogoo, Adam Ant, Spandeau Ballet (aww those were the days).
Clutter hunt immediately put on hold cos I got all nostalgic and reminiscent looking through them, lol.

Not very MSE, but who did you have on you bedroom wall.........??
    Debs x

Blimey yes i had Kajagoogoo, and frankie goes to hollywood, until my mum found out some of them were gay and ripped them down....

I have a pet shop boys poster i got from a concert from 3 years ago up in my room and i'm 39 :D
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?

David Cassidy, David Essex and Peter Powell the DJ from Radio Luxemburg, used to listen to his show under the covers at night, the signal would whoosh up and down LOL.

First ones were of Bros and Jason Donovan, and then New Kids on the Block and Take That... I had almost 2000 posters of Take That

When I was in halls I had Steps and Blue posters, and I still have my Blue posters as they covered every available inch of wall space in my last house but OH wont let me put them up here - spoilsport :rotfl:

Mick Jagger was the only one on my wall as a teenager - poster from the Hyde Park concert - long gone - something like this -

These days I have pictures of Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Rammstein, Jude Law and an original drawing of Eric Draven (the Crow) by James O'Barr. That's in my study, though - in our late-fifties, I don't think I can inflict them on DH in the bedroom... ;)

My Aunty Maud (who was 96 when she died about 5 years back) had her living room walls plastered with pictures of Elvis, Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdinck.
Are you sure it was Jimmy you met and not my flat mate? :rotfl:

The Milton Keynes Bowl...now you are talking! We went off for a "Reading come Glasonbury" equivalent where we decided to camp for the night before a concert with a load of other Communards/Erasure fans in a field just outside of MK...those were the days! No fields near MK now...!:D

Am now looking for my vinyl records...so well preserved and still love their stuff...might be worth few bob but won't sell because of the memories associated with them.
Don't get me started on the record collection, my eldest sister just couldn't understand why i had the 7", 12", 12" limited edition of so many of their records along with either the tape or cd + album.............. and then theres the videos of the concerts too.

    YAY for Hanson love :)

Anyone curious what they are up to now? www.hanson.net :) (I like promo tee hee)

And for whoever was talking about collecting LPs

I know its not the same, but I collect Hanson CDs and I have over 100, I have every single UK single release (plus CD2s) and album release, then I started collecting them from America, Japan and Australia, basically any cd that has a different cover or slightly different tracklist

So I have in fact got about 10 MMMBop singles and about 5 Promo CDs :)

My sister liked them. There was a boy in my class who looked just like Nathan. Loads fancied him but I never quite understood it.

I preferred her Johnny Hates Jazz cd. Whatever happened to them??
