MealPlans WB 14th September 2009

Hi Guys!

Thought I would start the thread:D Isnt it quiet with the children back at school!

This week we have:

Sun-SC Beef, Yorkies, Roasts, Mash, HG Carrots, HG Cabbage & Peas
Mon-Sausage Cassarole & Baked Spud
Tues-Quiche, New Pots & Salad
Wed-Chicken, Mash & Corn On Cob
Thurs-Egg & Chips
Fri-Curry & Rice
Sat-BBQ or Lasagna depending on weather
Sun-Lamb, Roasties, Yorkies, HG Carrot/Swede Mash, Peas & Minted Gravy

Breakfasts will be things such as: porridge, toast, eggs, cereal, bacon/sausage butties on weekend. Always fruit juice or fruit on offer, jam, honey, marmalade etc.

Lunches for DD are sarnies/rolls with cheese/ham/marmite or leftover chicken etc, yogurt, fruit & popcorn. We have leftovers, jackets, soup, sarnies or something on toast.

    ps when we start hte new weeks could we have a link to the previous week? just its handy if we only have one poster and stuck for ideas lol
  • right on a 19 day planner but have catered for 16 days as dh usually out on the sats at ma in law for tea with the kiddies.

    starting from today

    chicken or vegetable korma , rice nan bread
    hopefully leftover veggie korma or chinese beef curry (the sauce just a 99p one from the local shop...tasty)
    roast chicken and trimmings
    toad out of the hole lol mash veggie casserole baked beans
    chickpea n carrot curry and trimmings
    vegetable korma and trimmings (base sauce from previous meal)
    spaghetti bolgnese (cous cous for one child) veggie version as well
    chilli con carne n a veggie version
    porkchops roasties mash n veg
    sausage plait new potatoes n veg
    chinese veggie curry or colmans curry
    hm pizza
    cowboy pie and a veggie version
    chicken keiv proably mr ts boiled potatoes and veg
    porkchops roasties mash and veg
    beef casserole dumplings and mash.

    Today - hm fish pie and green beans
    Tomorrow - sausages, potatoe gratin beans or veg
    Saturday - Out at the inlaws
    Sunday - were at thomas land so were just having beef taco's when we get back
    Monday - Beef Curry in the slow cooker
    Tuesday - Gammon in the slow cooker
    Wednesday - feta, bacon (gammon) pasta.

    I'm going to try and make curried carrot and leak soup for my lunch in the week and ds will take pack up to school.
    I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

    My planning is getting a little complex as starting to wean lil'un so need to make sure I have something in for her too. Also we decided to start having something to light while I am finishing cooking dinner - we found that it stops us nibbling in the evenings.

    Breakfast
    Grapefruit or mandarin segments followed by:
    toast with HM strawberry jam, HM marmalade or marmite
    or branflakes with sultanas and raisins
    or porridge with blueberries or sultanas and raisins
    Ground rice for baby (and probably me too cos love it with some sugar in and drizzled with maple syrup... mmm...)

    Lunch
    Saturday: out
    Sunday: Vegetable soup. Green lentil and sausage meat loaf served with peas, carrots, steamed potatoes and gravy. Black Saturn's chocolate mousse. (Baby: potato and veg)
    Monday: Organic cheddar sandwiches. (Baby: potato and veg)
    Tuesday: Organic egg mayonnaise sandwiches. (Baby: banana)
    Wednesday: Baguette Pizza (Baby: butternut squash)
    Thursday: Marmite/peanut butter sandwiches (Baby: banana)
    Friday: Organic cheddar and onion pie (Baby: potato and peas)

    Dinner
    Saturday: HM organic beef burgers in buns with salad and potato wedges (Baby: Peas)
    Sunday: Bread and organic butter, sultana scones with HM strawberry jam and tea (Baby: potato and veg)
    Monday: Vegetable Soup. Smoked salmon and broad bean spaghetti. (Baby: banana)
    Tuesday: Breadsticks and mangetout. Butternut squash and tomato layer bake with salad and baguette. (Baby: butternut squash)
    Wednesday: Mixed green salad with avocado. Green lentil and sausage meat loaf with baked beans and HM oven chips. (Baby: avocado)
    Thursday: Pear and pecan salad. Organic cheddar and onion pie with peas and steamed potatoes. (Baby: pear)
    Friday: Granny Smith wedges with coriander raita. Tiger prawn rogan with mixed vegetable pilau, salad, chutney, pickle and mini poppadoms. (Baby: apple)

    Puddings can be fresh/dried fruit, organic cheese, organic yoghurt, semolina, or organic vanilla or chocolate ice cream.
    Snacks can be fresh/dried fruit, carrot, crackers, digestives or popcorn.

    I'm going to dive in and give this a go, might help me stay to my list on Saturday too.

    Friday, take out night.
    Saturday, pork loin, crusty bread and HM lentil soup.
    Sunday, left over soup, roast chicken (dine in for 2 markies) roast veg, mash, gravy, melt in the middle choc pudding.
    Monday, left over chicken, curry sauce and rice.
    Tuesday, mince (with carrot, onion and turnip) with mash
    Wednesday, spicy bacon pasta (or macaroni cheese), garlic bread
    Thurday, chicken fajitas.

    Right, don't usually post this early but here goes up until next Sunday:

    Thu: Green Thai Chicken Curry & Rice
    Fri: Sausage & Butterbean Casserole , Veg
    Sat: Pizza & Salad
    Sun: Steak Diane & Potatoes, Veg
    Mon: Mince & Potatoes, Veg
    Tue: Chicken En Croute & Potatoes (not HM!!), Veg
    Wed: Lasagne & Chips, Salad
    Thu: Salmon Fillets & Potatoes with Sauce, Veg
    Fri: Chicken Arrabiatta with Pasta & Garlic Bread
    Sat: Chicken & Leek Bake, Salad
    Sun: Out for dinner to lovely steak restaurant to celebrate 1st anniversary! :D

    This is all dependent on when baby decides to arrive though - it's due next Sunday! Most of the meals will have extra portions made to put in the freezer to cover for the next few weeks.

    Lunches will be soups (made minestrone today), sandwiches/rolls, toasties.
    Breakfasts are cereals, toast, hot stuff at weekend.

    Saturday - [STRIKE]chicken stirfry with noodles[/STRIKE] ended up going to my dad's so didn't bother with dinner. Will have this tonight as took chicken out the freezer

    Sunday - [STRIKE]mini pizza with salad and maybe some mini potato wedges (everything is mini :p)[/STRIKE] chicken stirfry with noodles

    Monday - pasta in a cheese and broccoli sauce

    Tuesday - vegetable rice (to use up broccoli)

    Wednesday - paprika butter chicken with chickpea cous cous - http://www.channel4.com/food/recipes/popular-ingredients/chicken/paprika-butter-chicken-with-chickpea-couscous-recipe_p_1.html (this was absolutely delicious!!)

    Thursday - tuna pasta bake

    Friday - tuna pasta bake

    Saturday - [STRIKE]sausage and bean stew[/STRIKE] mini pizza etc (as above)

    Sunday - [STRIKE]sausage and bean stew[/STRIKE] roast chicken with all the trimmings (including my homemade stuffing balls :D)


    I need to try and eat some of the soup I have in the freezer for lunches as it's taking up valuable space!

    Here's mine....

    Sat: Roast chicken and veg (will freeze leftovers for another day)
    Sun: pork meatballs and mash with veg
    Mon: Mackerel/Kippers and veg
    Tue: Country chicken casserole (from freezer) and veg
    Wed: Chilli wraps
    Thur: Turkey curry (assuming there's some left to freeze after tonight :o)
    Fri: Smoked pork sausage, butterbean bake and veg
    Sat: Chicken and leek cobbler (using said frozen roast chicken)
    Sun: Random one portion leftovers from the freezer :p

    Lunches will be rolls, HM bread (thanks to thriftlady), and soups - or possibly cheese on toast and beans if I can't be bothered to make soup on saturday :p
