I had no idea that watches were such a big deal to men. Max has discussed watches before and it went over my head.
I don't wear a watch, never have, and rely on moby 'phone (a 29.99 cheapy one) for time if out.
Don't do jewellery either (just some inherited bits and bobs and a £20 wedding ring).
What I do do is yummy shoes and I wouldn't bat an eye on spending £600 on a stripy leather, Paul Smith bag. Haven't been able to do so yet, but one day I will.
Don't know about the other girls but kitchens, nice quality pots and pans pans, luxe cotton duvets and Hermes silk scarves come high on my list of spends if I had lots of cash spare.
Lol, I don't do hand bags or shoes either...or any of the other items you mention!
*Now seriously wonders if I am a female at all :rotfl:
Hmm, what do I covet, spend lots on....errrr....errrr....nothing really, oh apart from books but even then, they are never ultra expensive ones (I start having panic attacks once it gets over a tenner).
God, I'm a boring non materialistic begger! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Congratulations Max

Well done on getting the job Max. I stand by my STR reasoning.
Hope you close lots deals and make good commission, but as you refuse to STR, my alternative advice would be to try and save up a bigger fund on money as security for the future.Max_Headroom wrote: »Feeling quietly chuffed today, and have an overwhelming urge to go spend some money...!
Some car sales data released the other day, hitting those two car companies which didn't take you on.

Until they start being more useful I'm not paying more.
Mine was about £30 but rarely wear it.
Nothing against very expensive watches, but plan to pick one up when they crash further in value, as ever more people bring them to market to raise cash.0 -

Yes, but only because you want everyone to sell cheap and depress house prices so that you can buy, you've no actual logical argument why I i should have you? :rolleyes:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. "Crash further in value"? Erm, the real quality second-hand stuff has been going up over the last 12 months in response to manufacturers hiking new prices...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Quite
Its not in me to covet luxury goods, but I do place more emphasis on quality over quantity. I don't have many things but those I do have are considered and generally, lovely.
At my stage in life, a 4k watch, a 4k handbag, or a 4k anything for that matter just represents 4k further away from the uninterrupted views, underfloor heating, wood burning stove, print studio and boot room in the National Forest.
Oh and well done max, what a lift.0 -
Congratulations Max, so pleased for you
fc123 I'm with you on shoes and handbags but you can keep the pans!Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

Well said.
And congrats on the job.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Congratulations. I'm in a weepy mood anyway...just another reason to feel over-emotional.0
