Many congrats Max. That's absolutely brilliant news!!!!
I've been following the blog since the beginning and it's been a roller coaster for you so it's fantastic to see it reach such a great conclusion. Do keep up the writing though - it's very entertaining :-)
Thank you. I seem to be getting a lot of requests to keep the blog going which really is most gratifying.
So I can see perhaps a weekly update maybe.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

According to DH if it costs over £1,000 it ceases to be a watch and becomes a timepiece. He's just discovered a whole forum on timepieces. I may never see him again. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I had no idea that watches were such a big deal to men. Max has discussed watches before and it went over my head.
I don't wear a watch, never have, and rely on moby 'phone (a 29.99 cheapy one) for time if out.
Don't do jewellery either (just some inherited bits and bobs and a £20 wedding ring).
What I do do is yummy shoes and I wouldn't bat an eye on spending £600 on a stripy leather, Paul Smith bag. Haven't been able to do so yet, but one day I will.
Don't know about the other girls but kitchens, nice quality pots and pans pans, luxe cotton duvets and Hermes silk scarves come high on my list of spends if I had lots of cash spare.0 -
Books and boxsets. If I get a Premy Bonds win it's Amazon madness.0

It is because we have nothing to remind us what time of the month it is. (sorry bad taste joke)
I think it is something we are all governed by but meaning blokes are a bit geeky we turn that in to precious, and amazement.
Also the only jewelry aspect is also true, I can remember being interested in clocks and watches from around the age of 5, my son is only 2 but loves "tick tocks" now also0 -

Thing is it seems a bit of a waste to me. I'm not allowed to wear a watch at work, don't need one on my days off it I'm being lazy at home and I have such pathetic, girly wrists that most watches are huge on me.
Mr G1980 was looking at those made by the company who now sponsor Man United, he saw one he liked, was nearly 200,000euros! He won't be getting one of those for xmas.0 -
