Cor! I'll be over there like a shot for well behaved spiders! I've just encouraged the 2nd wolf spider of the week away from the back door (its still alive - even I don't like killing them if they're *outside* the house).

A hoover would die in my garage :o one day fairly soon it will be nice, thanks to the embarrassment factor of having my sister see it. She looked after my jewellery box one time, and when I got it back, all the chains were neatly fastened, with a little note about how that helps them to stay untangled :rotfl::rotfl:

  • I firmly believe garages aren't meant to be nice -they should be cluttered, have oil marks on the floor (so you can pretend it happened during an oil change rather than the fact you dropped something) and look generally, like they are worky places to be. One of my uncles has the opposite type of garage - it is so organised that all his tools are on the wall or labelled. The ones on the wall have outlines around them to ensure correct tool is put back in correct place. And no - it's not because he's done time. He's just horrendously organised and businesslike - oh, and a self-made millionaire......

wanders off to survey garage & wonder where to get paint to outline tools on wall???

But I thought knots in chains were fashionable .....

    Yep:D

I realised that some of the quote wasn't supposed to be in there..the bit about the knives being sharpened...although the way to look at that would be the delectable feast that is Michael Shanks and of course the whetted appetite for KC's diary...

Phew got out of that one.:rotfl::rotfl:

Loving the eco house idea. I also like the wood burning stoves, but if you get it done on the cheap and then don't have the chimney swept ( like friends of ours) then you get rain and black marks all the way down..oops!

And i remember the 70's strikes too. We all learned to make candles and i am a dab hand at making a fire and cooking toast on a fork:D Hmm...i can just taste it now..sluurp.
