Personally I would choose HH over 3B any time.... You could always consider Redhill!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Personally I think HH comes out best for you KC -direct trains, house price, shopping facilities, community
3B trains and house price OK shopping in nearby Crawley centre but as you say is only a suburb of Crawley and I don;t think the community profile would fit :
Burgess Hill sinilar to HH not sure about trains though - worth a look?
East Grinstead - direct trains, community but shopping not as good (high street in decline) and house price a bit higher
Godstone - No direct trains - have to cross country to Redhill and change. Village facilitites and will be pricy as part of London catchment. Has good comunity profile
Redhill may be a bit pricier buit otherwise similar to HH so worth a look
There's also Horley (suburb of Gatwick) and Horsham (pricier Haywards Heath)
When I was looking at selling my house and relocating locally, I too picked HH as the main area to focus on for precisely the reasons you;ve listed......:D
See you soon - once you have got your first !!!!!! list for viewing

Duchy, thats interesting, thank you - its good to know that a mate on here has done something similar.
Place-wise :rotfl:well, Godstoneis too much of a stretch for my current local clients, and I don't feel that I can move that far & still carry on with the work, which I would be doing.
Redhill - Seaxwyn, how did I know you'd say that :rotfl:tbh, it feels too close to London, again, I don't think my existing local clients would find that positive.
HH is looking better and better, I must say. While we're on the topic, check this out:

Its a normal boring title, but its just one bloke, with a brilliant sense of humour - he obviously has too much time on his handsbut its reassuring that I won't be a lonely soul in some outback

Hi Taxi, hi Shaun! Thanks for stopping by.
Wol, this is good, thank you. I'm snipping in ....... I'm starting to get close to my deadline, so I'm not going to do the html code I usually do, just do bold for replies.......:oPersonally I think HH comes out best for you KC -direct trains, house price, shopping facilities, community I agree
3B trains and house price OK shopping in nearby Crawley centre but as you say is only a suburb of Crawley and I don;t think the community profile would fit : it sounds good at first, but I keep thinking about that walk I did to see my friend from 3B station to Pound Hill - no shops or cafes at all, all suburbs and gated apartment buildings.
Burgess Hill sinilar to HH not sure about trains though - worth a look? I like BH, but thinking about living there permanently - its quieter, much more "old people" than HH, and tho I do want quiet in the road where I'm living, I don't think I want the high street *that* quiet.
East Grinstead - direct trains, community but shopping not as good (high street in decline) and house price a bit higher Its the wrong rail line - current clients need consideration, and its too close to my sister.
Godstone - No direct trains - have to cross country to Redhill and change. Village facilitites and will be pricy as part of London catchment. Has good comunity profile just had a look on the google map - Duchy, I didn't realise, I thought it was *much* further east! Still applies tho, sadly.
Redhill may be a bit pricier buit otherwise similar to HH so worth a look It never occurred to me! In my first incarnation as an export finance exec, Redhill was very much on the map, which is maybe why I didn't think of it. Will do - this is a big decision after all - but my sense is that its still too far into London.
There's also Horley (suburb of Gatwick) and Horsham (pricier Haywards Heath) Horsham, no direct access for current clients makes it a no-no, and Horley is *very* interesting - but probably too far, like Redhill, tbh.My Egyptology group meets there once a month, so I might have a chance for a looksee soon, and the friends who introduced me to it probably know it a little bit already. I'll check it out, to be on the safe side.

Thanks for that Wol, and its interesting to see that your views added up to HH as well - I do think all of it points to HH as the one to go for, but I'll check the others, especially Redhill and Horley, it would be crazy not to. I think I know the atmosphere of BH enough to say no, much as I like pottering around - thats not my (whole) life.

Some good thunking going on there I like it :T:T:T:T:T:T
I especially like the bit about your sister :rotfl:
I have two sisters one I would more than happy to live near to - the other one - well the least said the better
Trouble is sister number one moved to be nearer her grandchildren and within 12 months sister number two followed her and lives in the next road almost and drives her mad
