:wave:Thanks everyone! Yep, lots of thinking now I have more information. And being me, I'm using the conservative price to base calculations on:
270 less mortgage 35 = 235
235 less moving costs stamp duty etc = 220
220 less Northern Rock capital repayment = 215.
So I'm looking at houses on the market for around 225 - 235.
I'm going to look at Three Bridges and Haywards Heath to start with - with both of those, if I decide to take off in that camper van and wander about the world, everything is easily rentable, because its the south east and because of Gatwick.
The 2nd estate agent, by the way, said that my local primary school had a fantastic Ofsted report, and that in this area this year the whole Open Day bids-on-the-day thing has come back:D. Well, I'm glad for me, but I really don't know how families on very ordinary wages for south east England manage to raise this kind of money.

Ooooooh very exciting news on the house front - so pleased for you! :jDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Thanks Squizz! I still find it hard to believe, tbh. I've just been looking on rightmove for H Heath, for the first time, and there was a house easily within my price range, within 15m easy walk of the station and near to the centre, and it was a 3 bed detached that looked nice in an area I vaguely know! I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but nothing has so far.
Off to check how you are.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
