I know you were, of course you were - and what you suggested is exactly what I want to do, for all my food - so much of this gluten free food in the shops is absolutely full of industrial type chemicals - my range oven (huge!!!!) will get a workout in the New Year, I absolutely promise.

Just this one time - I'm faking the food :o:o:o Will do better :o

Everyone I've spoken to about the thing loves it if they're in a family, or even a couple - but for one person, its a little .... excessive. Thats part of my determination to get into batch cooking. Otherwise, I'll be buying a halogen oven to put on the worksurface.

How about challenging yourself to learn to cook something new once a month KC? Preferably things that you can batch cook and freeze if you enjoy the recipe

Christmas seems like it's crept up on us this year, doesn't it? I feel like I'm running out of time too so quite agree that a bit of shop bought for one year is worth it to save time and stress :)
Nice work in the garden. I was out sweeping the drive yesterday and it was good to be able to go out and potter instead of running straight in out of the snow.

In fact at Chatsworth today they had some lovely garden tools - nothing that I needed - but they would have looked nice in the shed! Luckily I had my MSE head on and trotted on :A

Absolutely! In fact, the list is already up in the kitchen - I can do sweet crumble mix, but I *want* to do pancakes, and pastry, and flatbreads too - something savoury to eat at an early lunch instead of oatcakes from Sainsbo at 69p for 4 little packets.

Thanks! I do feel a bit silly about it, having spent all that money seeing the herbalist, who's told me to go wholefood (which is what I used to eat, before I got into debt),but there's only so many hours in the day.

    Oh definitely!

Thats the kind of overspend I'm prone to - I'll buy good quality because it will last (and then don't look after it) or I'll buy that because then I'll be able to (whatever) - but then I don't do the whatever thing. Glad you could resist!

KC, sounds like you have had a very productive NSD day. At least what you bought was essential and of use at Christmas. Time to worry is when it is on the non essential stuff.
