I love the idea of sneaking off to the loo at work to listen to a quick snippet - I might have to see if I can download something! I used to have some good links to meditations on YouTube which I listened to via my phone when I couldn't sleep, mind you it's not so good when your mobile internet connection is a bit erratic and you end up getting annoyed instead!

They might be times when its *especially* necessary :rotfl::kisses3:

I don't have many bus journeys these days, not commuting ones - back to my previous town once every four weeks, on my rota to see my business partner.. thats the only regular one... otherwise, its the train, or bus journeys that I don't travel on or have *never* travelled on, so I'm eager to see outside too!

Panic attacks at peak times sounds seriously horrible, taka, you were very strong to be able to deal with that constructively.

Its amazing what a bit of calm relaxation will do, even tho the lad next door played his music loudly for a little while, it didn't bother me - I just swept the top shelves of the airing cupboard - I've had the door enlarged, so that every shelf is fully accessible now, and I'm about to pack it full of quilts and things. In the next few days, honest, *not* right now :A

That was probably one of the least problematic... erm... problems at the time! An ED, agoraphobia, severe clinical depression... the list goes on! It meant I'd at least managed to leave the house! :j :rotfl: Thankfully that is now in the past (where it better blooming well stay! :p)

Glad to hear it KC! :D And, er, how come your house is full of spiders?? is it just old, or not been lived in for a while?? (mind you, I think ours is probably considered full of spiders to most people  I just don't bother getting rid of them if they're not actually in the bed - then they HAVE to go

As for listening to relaxing things - it's not *quite* the same, but I have a tiny MP3 player that clips to my bra :) I wear it when I'm travelling, or just walking, and have Steven Fry reading Harry Potter on it :D (and episodes of Father Ted, and the music from Jeeves and Wooster and other such nonsense :D) If I'm in a mood, I'll often switch it on just while I go to the loo, usually calms me down a bit :D Feels like someone's reading me a little story right in my own ear :o :rotfl:

Carpet - easy and OS solution, sprinkle with bicarb, leave to sit for an hour, then hoover up. Acts as a great deodorizer, is cheaper than Shake 'n' Vac, plus you don't have to do that ridiculous dance from the TV ads! :rotfl:

I swear by this, I also add my favourite essential oils and those that are good for deodorising. All you do is empty bicarb into a plastic bag, add several drops of oil then tie, place in the airing cupboard or a warm place for a few days then use. LOVELY

Excuse me missus, but why aren't you resting? Put yourself a CD on, and just relax, if you're ill you need to stop.

Good idea about MP3 players, and you can get so much more on them than being restricted to one CD in a player.

I swear by bicarb too! Many years ago I rented my flat out and the tenant took in a stray kitten. Fine until it started spraying the house. Now THAT smell never really went, or maybe it was just that I was conscious of it.

Right, bicarb it is .... resting .... I'm sitting up, its true, I should be lying down .....

Glad to hear it KC! :D And, er, how come your house is full of spiders?? is it just old, or not been lived in for a while?? The only ones that are unbearable to me, Cheery, are those big *fat* ones - there's a thin big one in the lounge at the mo, and its been there since I moved in, perfectly okay, no problem. The big fat ones, that move, yep, I can't bear them in the place - they're disturbed by movement like moving in, or heavy drilling, there was one in there tonight - they're everywhere, tbh, Cheery, its just that I notice them and comment on them more than other people. Or else they follow me around :D

I love the thought of playing the odd little song or chapter in the loo - thats brilliant :rotfl:

Okay, I'm going to bed. Right now. Shutting down Mozilla and watching a dvd..... and sipping water.

Night night all - thanks for your concern

I know what you mean about the big fat ones  Mr Daffs names them and gives them little personalities :rotfl: that's how I've just about managed to get used to them around the house - 'oh look, there's Spidey, look, he's saying 'aarrgghh! What are those big giant feet?? I just wanted a little stroll across the kitchen and there's enormous people jumping up and down and making lots of noise! Eek! Don't know what to do! Best run back under the table!'" :rotfl: :rotfl:

I watched tv with Doris running about the floor for several nights, until she vanished. Mr Daffs found her in a box of paperwork eventually, and put her down in the cellar :D However, this evening I notice that there's 4 or 5 mini Doris's high up on the wall where Doris previously spent a lot of time - so it looks like she might have been breeding  So that's Boris, Morris, Beatrice, and Avarice (I know it's not a name, but it kind of rhymes) :rotfl: They can't all live there though!

Hope you're feeling better tomorrow xx

Morning! Well, I slept a little bit better - I *made* myself not cough, and today I'm determined to drink more, that seems to help. Reluctantly, I'll have to start drinking something other than cups of tea :o so a carton of juice has been hauled out, and for hot drinks, I'll grudgingly try a herbal thingummy :D:eek::mad::rotfl:

Like everyone else, my st minver's scratch has just died... I withdrew a week or so ago. I'd already played all my TAB money (£3!!!) by chance, and I've just won £143.... hmmmm :o to show willing, I just bought the max number of tickets on a 2p game, which has set me back a whole £1.44 :rotfl: so after that plays, I'll try and withdraw. That will be fun :D

Otherwise, cups of tea, tapes, dvds. I realised that yesterday I hadn't listened to a spiritual cd - the first day!!! - simply hadn't made time for it, so I put it on as I went to bed, and fell asleep in ten minutes or so. A little more thought is needed ....
