Hope you feel better soon - lots of vitamin C and elderberry juice seems to have just about knocked my cold on the head.

The CD thing is a great idea - and you know we'll be checking that you do it ;) xx

Cam you reschedule your train tickets for another weekend? No point in stressing over getting there if you are still poorly x

So I'll make that commitment public on here: every day, I will make time to listen to a CD that I consider to be forwarding my most important aim of committing to a spiritual practice. Even if, on some Fridays, it might only be the 3 minute thing that Mark Williams does, I'll do it. Definite commitment.
I have a CD of his (well he is one of the authors of the book the CD is from) ... I have a 3 minute one (and the others from the CD) on my MP3 player. I listen to it on the bus or if I get really stressed/paniced at work. (Its short enough I can nip to the loo and listen to it if need be! :rotfl:)

Other than the meditation CD what other kind of activities do you have in mind? Tai Chi can be very spiritual I find, and I keep promising myself to take that up again but still not found the time or space or inclination to get it onto my daily agenda. Declaring it on your diary can be a good motivator.

I find pilates has the same effect on me but with added stretching! :D Very calming and soothing and concentrating on breathing. Never tried Tai chi proper. I've done a tiny bit of Chi (Qi??) gong which is very similar to Tai chi though.

Hope that you are feeling better soon. it will be a shame for you to miss getting to Liverpool but it will still be there when you are fit enough to take it at full pelt.

Liverpool will still be there, absolutely :) Tai chi .... I don't like it, I'm afraid - I went to a class for 12 weeks, its so slow it boggles me - if it was still it would be fine, or moving, but moving so slowly, I don't connect to it all, sadly.

What else? A lot of gratitude. There's a meditation class - I'd be late for it a bit, once a fortnight, they might not like that, but I could certainly be on time the other fortnight. Don't know! Good question, I'll have to think.

I might be able to get a refund on one, cos it wasn't far off full price - I'll see.

Confession time: I haven't hunted out my vitamin tablets yet :o Okay, I'll do that next.

Not played a CD yet today - as well as phoning to cancel several pieces of work tomorrow, I've had the builder and two assistants, the electrician and the building control man, then had to phone the builder... I've been quite busy for someone who's supposed to be on their sickbed :o

Off for a cup of tea and then to check a few more diaries.

Taka, thats a great idea to play it on the bus! I do have a personal CD player somewhere that I could dig out and use in that way, or even around the house, given that I'm doing stuff (when I'm well, when I'm well, honest).

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough again KC - I wonder whether one of the issues might be that you are putting too much pressure on yourself to get better, and thus causing stress which is delaying your recovery? You perhaps need to relax, go with the flow, eat well, drink plenty, vitamin C and Echinacea and all that jazz. Do what you feel like doing, eat what you feel like eating (and when you feel like eating it) and cut yourself some slack! xxx

Hi EH! I think so, to be honest, I think my body is just saying, give it a rest! Trouble is, there's nowhere really pleasant to rest yet - my bedroom is the best room in the house for relaxation, but that has lots of quilts in underbed boxes scattered about the room, the big bookcase from the office in there to be out the way of the building work, the blinds still haven't been fully cleaned since I moved in, and the joints in the ceiling panels need sealing (the surveyor commented on this) - from my point of view, they need it because spiders can waft down from the loft, which 2 have already done. And the carpet smells. Of dog :( I like dogs, just not eau de dog parfum.

But the rest of your post, I will take to heart :kisses3:

Carpet - easy and OS solution, sprinkle with bicarb, leave to sit for an hour, then hoover up. Acts as a great deodorizer, is cheaper than Shake 'n' Vac, plus you don't have to do that ridiculous dance from the TV ads! :rotfl:

Oh! Thank EH! I'll give it a go in a couple of weeks then - my sister is bringing home a vac cleaner from France for me, at half term - my own can only cope with about 7 or 8 minutes vaccing before it cuts out for 2 or 3 days, and it *has* to be working all the time, to hoover the spiders off the ceilings so I can chuck them into the garden :o even when I can't reach them myself.... of such trials is life made :o:rotfl:

It does rather depend on the bus though! Being elbowed in the kidneys / sat on / having a sneezing or coughing neighbour / crying child / maniac bus driver all mean it might not be the best place sometimes! :rotfl: I started to do it there because at the time I was having panic attacks on busy buses and having to travel at peak time or near enough to get to work so it helped to keep me calm-ish. :p I also spend ~ 1.5hrs (in total) commuting on a bus on work days. I have to do it with my eyes open though or risk falling asleep and missing my stop! :o :rotfl:
