Ooh, an earthship! Tell me more! Would I buy one .... no, tbh, I can't do high-end like that, though they don't have the prices worked out yet. And I'd much rather have freehold than leasehold. And be detached. Theres a detached bungalow that needs work just half a mile from Three Bridges station, thats on the market for £200k..... if I sell this place (without any doing-up-to-sell), I could buy that outright, and instal my own innovations. I certainly want mucho greenstuff.

Do you have a link to the earthship, El, I'd love to see?

  • Cor, all interesting stuff there.

Glad you have a new diary up and running KC. Loving the title, very apt..we never know what is in the future really. Think if did, i would have turned tail and run away ages ago.:rotfl:

Hmm how to end with an appropriate MS saying.

"I've never seen so many knives being sharpened for a show being aired, especially by the fans of the franchise, as I've seen over this past year when it came to Universe... I've also seen a lot of love for it. ... But I'm just kind of surprised at the waiting-in-the-wings tension."

Well if you substitute the idea of KC's diary for Stargate, then you will see he has been eagerly awaiting a new installment. As have we all.:D

I loved the Grand Designers eco house with light tubes, sewage reed beds, solar and wind power.

If I built a house I deffo use some eco things very MSE and good for the planet. Unfortunately more likely to end up in drafty oil heated Georgian house ;)

WOW..really interesting stuff there from both KC and El..thanks!!!
We have nothing like that here and I think they are the way forward and that they should try and provide some affordable housing like this everywhere and help people convert their old houses into ECO houses.
Glad to see the new diary KC...so HAPPY NEW DIARY.

the earthship taxi appears fairly easy to make ..(appears lol ...like i am a builder) and most of the things used are tyres/cans /glass bottles etc ...i would love to have my own bit of land where i could build an eco house ...and grow my own things etc ...sounds like heaven

So, KC, is it workable finance wise for you to look at an ECO type house..........?
