That all sounds good....0

Gosh, sounds like you're proper busy, and being productive too! (just popped in to say hi and be nosey!). Your attic sounds like my entire house :rotfl: Mr Daffs has lived here 20 years and is a real hoarder and charity shop junky - great because we rarely buy anything new and never pay very much for stuff, but BAD because he always feels like if it's free or cheap we *have* to have it, especially if it's nice...
Good luck with freecycling - can you sell some of that stuff from the attic, or is that just too much to deal with at the minute??

I stopped doing that very soon after I bought my first property - it was a flat, and I rented it out while I lived with my bf, then I had a house but I also had up to 4 lodgers, so still no room to have anything. It was only when I moved here, at the top of my income and loads of space to myself, that the clutter problems started:o:o

Thats a really good question, Cheery. I don't think much of it is saleable - there are some dining room chairs up there, of stripped wood, a type thats pretty well liked around here, they might fetch something. There's a 19th century log store basket that might also sell. There's a manual typewriter  I remember keeping it in case the computer broke down  can you imagine receiving a professional letter typed on a manual now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: the insulation is definitely worth keeping, so are the duvets and the cushions. I might try to sell the chairs, I might, the rest is beyond me, I think. Oh, there's some LPsa French production of Star Wars dating to 1978? La Guerre des Etoiles!

I did the mystery shop, is all inputted safely, did a few surveys earlier on, but the main work today has been doing the house sale/purchase stuff - phone calls, letters, blah blah. Lots and lots of it.
Kind of a sad evening - my sister just phoned about her husband, who died last year. She's just heard some news about memorials to him by the company he worked for, and their staff as well..... its just sad, thats all, really, I'm okay and she's coping.
Wow. Just seen the time - well, turns out I really *am* okay - I'm hungry! Off to eat something, and go to bed. Hope all are well.
xxx
EDIT - I wrote more, which is what KM's commenting about, but I came back and erased it, its not mine to tell .... I'm glad someone saw it tho:kisses3:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hugs for you and your sister, thats a proud and honourable thing to happen with his work but must be bittersweet, I'm glad you can share the celebration day with your sister, you must both miss him, you're right that is sad for all of you, take care x0

Morning all! I just lost a *huge* post through hitting the wrong button  well, I'm going to rewrite in point format
slept well (tho very late), even after the sad news, but today is a catchup day, I've decided. Starting with the freecycle bed being collected, every room in the house is a real mess, I'm picking my way through **stuff** constantly. I've made a bit of a start, the living room floor is now clear, tho the table isn't. We'll see.
decided to go to the South of England Show tomorrow - we've made a family date for next year, my sister and my mum both liked the sound of it, and I was wondering about the expense of going, but, well, we live once....
I have a list of jobs - the front garden, which I keep writing about but not doing anything about - you have to brush by new growth on your way up the path now, and that cornfield is about three feet tall  something has to happen today.
if I skive off the jobs, I may well do some genealogy in the library this afternoon - I won't have that free membership of ancestry.com much longer, so I'd better use it while I can.
I've done the banking, some tidying, some sorting out, caught up on a bit of sleep. Thats it for now

Hi Karma, glad you're OK - obviously don't know the details but I think it's lovely that his work are honouring and remembering him x
ps Oi you sneaked that post in there while I was typingDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Yeah, I'm good, honestly - its just, I realised its stuff that belongs to my sister, not me, I shouldn't post it up *quite* so quickly.
I'm still rootling around on the internet - I have £49 in my paypal account, with "all these" ebay salesand another £15 almost in my lightspeed account - can't be saved, has to be spent
I'll spend it once I'm in the new place, so I don't have to pay for delivery twice, so to speak, and there's going to be *lots* to buy. Mind you, I'm pondering the reality of what people do when they buy - a "rolling maintenace programme", as the surveyor put it. I've never done that ever, which is very naughty of me. Time to grow up :rotfl:

Sounds like you've got most stuff pretty sorted and you are really getting through sorting/decluttering stuff...just think how tidy your new house will be and how little clutter you'll have.0

Its not bad, Taxi - still much more than I'd like, but I'm on the way. I abandoned everything this afternoon - lolled about, even had a nap
, I feel pretty well relaxed now - cup of tea and more relaxing to come, I think
I love these Fridays that I don't go to London!
