Meanwhile, I've been doing that body shop offer that benben mentioned .... its not as good as it was (I really need to go on more boards than the diaries :rotfl:) but I got 5 items for £23.50 delivered - 2 of those are body butters that cost £12.50 each, so I'm very happy.

Also been doing some checking on amazon and ebay for more magazines and trading cards. The magazines can go on ebay, when I get round to it, and some of the trading cards in unopened packs can go on there too (I got seduced by buying **things**, thats the truth) but 5 sets or so are just going to be chucked out - even unopened, a season pack is on for 99p or so - the opened stuff is worthless. Hey ho! I will *so* never buy this carp again....

Why don't you send them along with your other stuff you sell as freebies?

Maybe someone will get the enjoyment that you didn't.

What a good idea! Might as well - I actually did that with that book I sold for £30, sent a leather bookmark with the same theme along with it. Thanks Z!

What an interesting site this is. After looking at the grabbit board, I decided to look at the employment board - found a tiny little thread, with only 3 posts, that mentioned elance and odesk - interesting opportunities if I wanted to stay completely self employed. It also encouraged me to look at the jobcentre website for my area - it would be more difficult to get a job, as my working life is now so specialised (over 20 years doing what I'm doing! :) ) but if push came to shove I could get a job that only paid what I'm getting now, and do my most present work in the evenings.

The only issue with that is my health - I just don't know if I'll regain the level of health needed to do that even this year - and if I make myself ill trying to do too much, I've no clue how long it would take me to get well, if I could manage it.

Of course, then I could simply rent the place out, wherever "it" is, and go live somewhere else, a Polynesian island maybe, while writing a book about it :D

The geneaology stuff sounds good.I can't do ours as can't talk to family to find stuff out.

Taxi, I never replied to the second part of this, sorry - the *ideal* is to talk to family, but its not crucial. For instance, my nan, who died in 1997 aged 93, knew her grandparents, so they were within living memory in our family, although they died in the 1920s. And a few years after my grandmother died, I met up with a distant cousin living in Norway who's related to the same set of great grandparents. But he managed to connect to them purely through research, his father and his grandfather on that side had both died very young and he was brought up only by his mother. It can certainly be done, if you want to (and thats the important bit, if you want to!)

I'm a bit annoyed with myself this morning - I put a DVD boxset onto Amazon that my sister gave me while I was sick, she asked me to sell it, it had been hanging around for years. She didn't check it, I didn't check it - it sold last night, for a really good price, and when I *finally* checked it, 2 of the 4 discs were missing - completely my own fault, it was really dumb. At least no money has changed hands, but I've had to email the buyer and cancel the order. And I completely set myself up for it. Lesson learned!

Otherwise, as well as the Body Shop order yesterday, I did the "store collect" £5 off at Boots, and bought a No7 toner for my sister for total of £2.50, hurray.

I'm just filling another much smaller Amazon order now, got some emails to write, otherwise its about focussing in on doing what I can to get the house prepared for sale.

What a shame about the DVDs but guess you'll find them whilst decluttering.
My mums family is very confusing she has a sister by the same name..that she only knew about about 10 years ago..so I don't know the story behind that as no contact..and I also recall something from about 30 years ago about my mum being brought by my nan who was her aunt or sister something like that...so think it will take a long time to find anything out.Would like to know but don't think it will be worth the stress/hassle.
    Well done on Boots suff.
