Sunnyday - Happy Anniversary!
Sistercas - So sorry to hear about your DDs! hope they make a quick recovery x0 -
Afternoon all.
Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Sunnyday.
What a week this is turning out to be! I was at the hospital Tuesday, and a total nightmare that was. It started off with me unexpectedly having to see the male consultant, and went ever downhill from there. It was all I could do not to turn tail and wheel myself out of there at top speed!
We have now had the video entry phone fitted, so no more hobbling to the front door to find it's just a nuisance caller.
Spent most of yesterday baking - I'm sure most of you would have managed to do bread rolls, cherry pie and veggie quiche in timely fashion, but I'm afraid it took me all day as I had to keep stopping to rest.
Not doing much today though - need my energy for tonight, as we're supposed to be attending the local launch of the 2010 CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Tbh, I'd sooner not go; but Mr LW wants a copy and he won't want to go on his own.
I did get an email yesterday that cheered me up though - the dog-sitting service want me to have a Westie for four days from next Thursday, so that's something to look forward to.:o
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Oh guys:eek:
I've discovered through internet research that there has been a planning application for a 5-bedroom 'dwelling' on land adjacent to my new row of back-in-time cottages. That, in itself, is not a problem - just the name of the person submitting the application. Essex girl may know who I am talking about - a well-known local 'property developer' who has no regard for planning procedures whatsoever.
Not sure now if I want to live anywhere near this area!
Will keep you all posted.

Sistercas - hope the kids feel better soon.
Evening all. First day back at work today, was greeted with over 300 emails, tons of post, and a prisoner to deal with! Luckily it didn't take too long, so was able to plough through the emails and stuff this afternoon.
Started my new hours, was lovely to finish at 4.30 and be home to cook kids tea at a decent time. Am cooking there tea ready for tomorrow, as they need to heat it up and feed themselves before their Dad collects them at 5pm.
Will go and have a hunt back through other threads and catch up on today generally!0 -
thankyou for all the good wishes for the girls, although their temperatures are still above normal , they have come down considerably which is a relief. I have contacted the helpline and they think its swine flu. however I dont want tamiflu I have heard the side effects can be worse than the flu. so I shall look after them the old fashioned way, (and a bucketload of paracetamol thrown in)

I heard their school has sent 80 children home today
Sunnyday happy anniversary :beer:0 -
Just a quickie to say
Sunnyday happy anniversary
Lillibet hope everything works out ok with the cottage
sistercas - hope the girls soon feel better. It does seem like the experts were right when they said it might start up again with a vengence once the schools went back.
x"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"

ello everyone

I've really missed posting on this thread since returning to work ... it felt like a friend checking in process and a gossip!
Hope everyone is well and those celebrating are having and those having tricky times are working through it
Back to a full on job, however with a much smaller class this year which is always nice! Agreed to take on a lead role for the county this year (read: pushed into!) so already have copious amounts of night time work!
Hope all is well
Burp x0 -
Late on here tonight but just to say (((hugs))) sistercas - both DH and I had swine flu a few weeks ago. Pretty grotty indeed for quite a few days - a week maybe - and then took 2/3 weeks to really feel back to our usual selves. Sometimes you feel fine, do something and then realise you're not quite well.
w
ed to add - DH took tamiflu as it was suggested by the helpline guy and he gave us a code for it but we didn't ring when I came down with it and I did ok without.0
