Afternoon all
I walked to work today (5 miles)
I have continuing with my surruptious fruit-laundering activities todayA friend of mine has traded some pears for some plum jam :rotfl: I have also been scrumping for jam jars in next doors recycling under the cover of darkness
I want to make some pear and fig chutney again this year as I have been craving it since we finished the stuff I made last year. I have some cooking apples to use up too, I found a reciepe for apple and orange marmalade which I might try.
Not much else going on, seed salad and soda bread for lunch for me, pasta and asparagus for tea.
Cells to feed and paperwork to do.
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

I had some good results from my shopping trip. Tesco are obviously changing the range of cat food they carry so all sorts of odds and flavours are on 50%+ reduction. The cats are well used to eating what's on offer, just like the kids, so I stocked up a bit on an assortment of things.
Then I went to Boots to buy Hedrin, because the kids have nits again. (Welcome back to the new term, eh?) Last time I went for a pharmacy prescription they gave me Derebac, which the kids hate, so I was resigned to buying Hedrin at £12 a bottle, bah. Then I remembered that someone here mentioned you could also get the Hedrin on a free kids pharmacy prescription and it wasn't the dragon pharmacist on so I thought I'd ask. Well, result, she not only gave me the Hedrin but insisted on me getting a bottle on prescription each for both kids, so that's me stocked up with Hedrin for the next few weeks! She also gave me the full five minute lecture on how to comb their hair (as if I've never done it before!!) but she was so nice I didn't mind, lol.
That was me £12 ahead of budget so I went to M&S to get the promised £10 meal for me and Hubby. Ended up getting two, which is not totally money saving but they had £8.00 Oakham chickens in the Deal so it would have been rude not to. Two meal Deals go a long way in this house! Also got their fish & chips deal which was basically a huge bag of oven chips and six battered fish fillets for £4. The kids have friends over tomorrow for tea so that will feed the six of them for £4 plus half a bag of frozen peas, apple pie from the £10 deal and some ice cream from the freezer.
Also took the chance to have a look at the final reductions in clothes at M&S and came away with not one but three pairs of plain black trousers, just my size for £3 per pair. Yo!
I am having a good day!Val.0 -
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
Struggling to stay motivated today, not got half of what i planned done, i just want to sleep! I've made the bed, folded yesterdays towels, unloaded and half reloaded the d/w, sorted through the cd's/dvd's and cleaned the tv/ stereo cabinet and thats about it oh apart from ordering the next fortnights shopping online. Still need to clean the inside of l/r window, hoover throughout and give the kitchen a wipe over before 5pm.
Good news though is that the van MOT came in at £180 which is under the £200 i had set aside so provided mine passes as expected thats great news :T and on top of that the shopping budget this month has been slashed by £50 without really trying so will try to stick to the new budget again next month.0 -

Earlier i recieved a lovely bunch of beautiful roses, orange and yellow with red edged leaves and they now have pride of place in a crystal vase on the fireplace. They were from DH as its our wedding anniversary today, 15 years  lets see if we manage another 15 :rotfl:
Got it so cheap in Tescos with a combination of things It was £26 reduced to £13 reduced to £10. Then used a Mail MOC which took £2.50 off so brought it down to £7.50. I then used a £7 Tescos Clubcard voucher and 50p from my focus group earnings.. hence 50p to pay...:p:j
