Purchsed one of these ealier today........... Looks ok, but its a cheap lcd which produces a poor qualty picture. The sound quality is also very poor.
Going to return it................Its ok for £49.99, but thats all it worth.
Not a real good bargain.0 -
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

I've just bought the Aldi one and it seems fine. Well made with a rubbery feel and good picture. The only slight downside is that the batteries go in a separate box which can double as a stand, but the attachment clips look a bit flimsy.0

I got the Aldi one too as I've been after one of these for ages to have in the bathroom. I have to admit I am impressed with the quality. I took a while to work out the menus and a tip is to run an auto-install with it connected to your main house TV aerial so it picks up and saves all the channels easier. Once that's done the built in aerial does a good job (round our way anyway.)
The other downside is that it takes 10 AAs so I may have to pick up another charger to keep up with it!BE NICE - IT'S FREE!0 -

Why wouldn't you run it off the 12 volts provided by the A/C adapter ?There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

Thanks very much to the original poster for this,
I have been into Staples in Weston super Mare today and there were none on show, the guy I happened to ask was the store manager who said they were in the stock room, he went and got one for me and showed me everything on it, how to tune it in etc.
I have to say he was brilliant...just a shame you have to ask and there are none on display....
It is now in my kitchen window...and is excellent...the only problem is the OH has already thought about taking it to work with him to watch world cup matches....so I dont know how long I will have it for !!!!ADOPT DONT SHOP......🐕🐕🐕🐕0 -

Do you have any more details on this ?
Only I can't find it on their website, not on any of the Tchibo displays in my local Somerfields and does not feature in the latest brochures. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

That's because it's for use in the bathroom and there's no plugs in there by law for safety reasons. I could run it off the mains in any other room but we already have TVs in most of those!BE NICE - IT'S FREE!0 -

EXACTLY !
Only the A/C adapter (transformer) itself has to be outside the bathroom - so plug it into a socket in a bedroom or even (like I've had for ages) add a new one above the bathroom in the loft that can be turned on/off by a pull-cord switch.
Then EXTEND the low voltage cable, if it is not long enough, that is only carrying the safe 12 volts DC.
You can buy ready made plug/socket male/female "extension" cables from some places. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93
